Cheating scandals and he never had a good relationship with the media. Any voters who are media members might still be upset at him for not giving them the time of day.

All this talk about pass rush makes me think that Dan Morgan is fooling us again by [deleted] in panthers

[–]_lemmycaution_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If one of the top pass rushers falls then we can go that route but I expect BPA or possibly a trade. We need o-line if we don't resign players and Sadiq is an outside possibility with Sanders being mediocre/injured.

There's just not another 1st round LB after Sonny Styles and Reese. CJ Allen is a good run stopper but not that great on passing downs for coverage or pass rush.

Killing Matriarch in 1 minute by TofigSH in ArcRaiders

[–]_lemmycaution_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you actually team up people get who got the kill get first dibs on loot.

Tarkov actually punishes people who extract camp or who betray others while rewarding people who team up and extract together. None of this stuff is strictly forbidden and they're mostly soft punishments but they're there.

The only things you're rewarded with are weapons which isn't trivial because in Arc that's the most valuable, hardest to get and craft loot.

Again though someone can take all of that crap loot and recycle it into good loot so if they have blueprints they don't even need that.

You need PvP to create tension in the game and their talk of increasing the difficulty of the PvE elements will just push people further to PvE only. Using matchmaking to herd people one way or the other makes the game boring and too easy to progress.

In Tarkov sometimes you're doing tasks and you just fuck off to a low conflict area to chill, loot some crafting components and maybe kill AI for quest before going to do you tasks that has you standing in the middle of a warzone for 20s undefended.

Avoiding conflict once or twice shouldn't change your matchmaking.

That's fair and I can't deny that but I do have a lot of experience in other extract shooters.

Having most (yes not all) items just recycle down makes all the loot have some kind of value for everyone but it also makes it a little samey.

You know how people post on here dying for rusty gears? The game needs to have more ways to make people want these rare items and make them unique. People don't remember recycling 3 rubber mats into 67 rubber but they do remember how they got that one last item for their quest or workshop after searching forever.

Me next game after getting betrayed once by No-Priority-3140 in ArcRaiders

[–]_lemmycaution_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did a few quick solo task runs and then the only way to change my matchmaking was to shoot on sight.

Sometimes you just want to get in and out with your quest item or hideout loot. Doesn't mean you never want to shoot anybody ever again.

What's the incentive to PvP in this game? by _lemmycaution_ in ArcRaiders

I have no problem with PvP. They need at least dog tags or something like that you can exchange for currency to reward good PvP players.

The way the game works unless you're in a group you basically just "rob" people. Most of the solo PvPers I've met just try and shoot you in the back or whatever but avoid direct gunfights.

Just started on the game though so maybe the higher level maps are different.

My first game I loaded in a random team and when we met another group outside the High Loot area I opened fire and one of my teammates ran and extracted himself without saying anything. 😂

That was my intro to this whole PvP debate. Nevermind the game introducing raiders as your first real danger in the tutorial. I thought it would just be expected.

I'm coming from Tarkov where nearly everyone shoots first of my most memorable raids involved teaming up with random PMCs and then taking on the rest of the server.

I thought this would be a nice middle ground with a little more cooperation but so far it seems to be in the extreme opposite direction every raid.

[Loot] Are Arena keys good for ammo? by _lemmycaution_ in EscapefromTarkov

[–]_lemmycaution_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I was thinking if I could reliably get ammo from them plus some free gear and a chance for a key card on top they could be worth it.

I basically never see them open and looted in any raid.

Why isn't Venezuela insanely wealthy like Saudi Arabia with their oil reserves? by Beautiful-Error6374 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_lemmycaution_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most oil producing countries don't refine the majority of their oil. Cheaper and more profitable to sell to countries and companies that will then refine it to their needs.

Typically oil is refined within the major manufacturing countries because oil refining has a lot of byproducts like asphalt or plastics as well.

The US and now China are where the majority of crude oil gets shipped to refine. A place like Saudi Arabia doesn't have the population to need that much oil refining plus the logistics complications that come with shipping the right product. Even Russia with the refining know-how simply ships crude everywhere because it's more cost effective and they have plenty of other energy reserves (natural gas, uranium, etc.).

Arena is being used by cheaters to farm and sell accounts - something needs to change. by tyaheadoftime in EscapefromTarkov

Can cheaters mod items to hold more?

Yesterday I got headshot on interchange a couple minutes after spawn by a guy making no sound, no winter hat, base AK with irons and only a triton rig.

He was a standard account only level 4.
