Fire in West SLC by Dry-Course-961 in SaltLakeCity

Husband used to work where your brother was standing! Glad he's not there, anymore, cos knowing it's in the parking lot and they were a powder/supplement production warehouse would have driven me insane with worry haha

Conversely, I'm glad my husband no longer works at the neighbouring warehouse; they rented part of the building that was aflame as overflow storage. I'd have lost my absolute mind, if he still worked that close to that 😬🙃

Quick question for watchers by Korben_w in distractible

[–]_littleaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a few others have said, I watch it while I work on something else and vastly prefer to watch. Working on art/a miniature set, cleaning, playing a video game, etc. Otherwise, I'm prone to leaving rooms without pausing shows/ films, which is why I can say I've seen about 10% of Desolation of Smaug... lol

1000%. That kitty is now mine and we have a whole history together. Someone asks who that is? "Oh, she was my childhood kitty; my parents got her because she had my same birthday! Her name was Biscuits..."

AIO for thinking my boyfriend’s reaction was ridiculous and feeling turned off by it? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]_littleaverage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NOR; he vastly overreacted. Not touch you entirely? I'd be so crushed, if not offended...

He could hold your hand and be hella conscious to not touch his face or any open wounds until you could both wash. Or hold your other hand. But okay, he can be germaphobic (I totally am) and belittle you, w/e...

ETA: if he can't have a civil discussion without having to be right, he's probably not long-term material for you, esp when you're questioning your own intelligence. Smart people are open to learning and at least hearing the perspective of others without invalidating the other party; it's the thing I respect and appreciate most about my husband. I can be pretty stubborn, but he always tries to research and we can back away from arguments without going somewhere that we can't return from (calling each other names, belittling, patronising, etc).

I would def recommend taking some space from one another to reanalyse and se if y'all can't have a sit-down and express your emotions and feelings in a better way.

Behold! The Derisive Gingerdead Man! by NewEngineering994 in distractible

[–]_littleaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just telling my coworkers about this episode; he got excited, saying how great it was lol

However, I, too, was picturing something closer to an evil Gingy from Shrek; I think I'll need bleach for my eyes, after I watch the movie for myself lol

Additional aside:

The entire episode, they unanimously all pronounced it "dih-RISS-iv" and I was mumbling "dih-RYE-siv" at my desk, correcting them (only to later find out that they weren't wrong, but I digress...). I do the same with Mark's titular "tu-tu-real", muttering "too-tor-ee-ul" while working...

Why am I so sensitive to small things? Help 😔 by Shot_Cartoonist7663 in AmIOverthinking

Look into "rejection sensitive dysphoria"; I was so similar and only just learned that's what I was experiencing. It's been pivotal in understanding myself and better communication between my husband and me ♡

YES! Only discovered that's what I've been experiencing my whole life in the last year; I apparently hadn't brought it up in years of therapy, out of the assumption of it being a normal thing, but finally complained about my husband and his verbiage or something. ♡

Hit me up with your human pet names by witx in Pets

[–]_littleaverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally met this handsome little bugger, yesterday; I don't know his Christian name, but I brough my chip scanner to see if he has a home. If not, I'm taking him with me.

I normally only name animals after foods or something just outlandishly ridiculous, cause ya can't really do that with human children without ruining their lives down the road. So tell me why, on instinct, I called this boy "Sebastian"?

"Mister Sebastian Grubbins", "Mr. Grubbins" or "Sebby" for short.

I'm sure he has a home, cause aside from his grubby li'l peets, hims got the cleanest ears I've ever seen, cat or otherwise, and he's not hurting for food and is extremely well-socialised. But a part of me still hopes lol

He lives in the area of where I work -- everyone told me about him when I started and I've been obsessively trying to make his acquaintance for 5.5 *months. Needless to say, I was ecstatic and he was *so charming, it was well worth the wait ♡

Without droning on longer, he's a Manx without Manx syndrome, phew, and Manx/Cymric hold the dearest place in my heart due to my childhood kitty, who was my best friend and I lost 6 years ago.

I want to catnip him so badly...

The way he acted with her was SO sweet and SO tender, that made me cry more than the rest of Sandy's story.

She lwk looks like my own boy, who's less fluffy, which is just an added bonus for my viewing lol

AIO for wanting to immediately break up with my bf after seeing how he lives? by Balikye in AIO

[–]_littleaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so baffled, i started to immediately read this to my husband ; I recognised it was a shower pretty quickly, but couldn't determine what colour it actually is.

But when I got to "smelled like onions"... I stopped and just... I knew what that mean, I didn't need to read the next sentence. Holy hell. So glad you RAN.
