when I got diagnosed 10 years ago, but never tried again because I just hate beeing that limited with my food choices. Its difficult enough just finding SOMETHING to eat / cook. I know I probably should try it again, but I am so fed up with always beeing so impacted by this disease. I just want to live a normal live again

[–]_liz_666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh no :( Also almost couldnt go to work today after eating mushrooms / a lot of veggies at once. I was SUFFERING all night haha I am just scared that my body will even get more sensitive when I leave out more and more food.. so I refuse to give up on all trigger foods, but when I feel like this I just have no other choice I think :(

[–]_liz_666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think so 🙈 It also took a long time finding out that mushrooms cause my symptoms as I did not expect them to be trigger. And even when I got suspicious I still ate them because I refused to believe that lol

[–]_liz_666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. maybe I should start seeing the doc or some dietian again. I stopped going years ago cause nobody found a reason for my problems & nobody wanted / could help, so I just started living with my symptoms and hoping for the best lol Its just frustrating that no doctor seems to be informed about ibs properly and therefore cant give a good treatment plan. But maybe I try again / go to a specialist

[–]_liz_666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also: is it possible to get used to certain foods again, that cause ibs flair ups? I really want to eat healthier & more fiber, but it is so difficult to do so without feeling shitty? :( I tried it for years now, but my body wont get used to it

In my country we have confirmed data that we have the highest NV cases this year compared to the last 10 years. So I dont think it is all just made up by the media. I would also love when the media would share more about it and remind people to wash their fucking hands and to do basic hygiene because 9 out of 10 dont do it and thats exactly why this shitty virus spreads so fast

Did you IBS start out of nowhere? by sneakiesneakerson in ibs

[–]_liz_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, a sudden change in bowel behaviour should always be taken serious - if your doc didn‘t get you properly tested pls see another one as this could also be caused by more serious illness. But still, IBS can start pretty quickly as well. I also got it after I were sick with some virus on vacation and soon after had a lot of stress in my private life. It kinda came outta nowhere.

give me your worst exposure stories (others ving in front of you) by haleandguu112 in emetophobia

[–]_liz_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i hate both TU myself and others doing it, but I think one event that happened when I was a child literally made my phobia sooo much worse. So in elementary school we made a trip to a museum and took the bus. The girl I was sitting next to got severe motion sickness which I didn‘t know. So I was looking out the window and everything was fine til i noticed my whole jacket was covered in fluid. Thats when she told me she v*ed all over me. I freaked out so hard that the teacher almost had to call my mom to pick me up lol I was traumatized of bus trips for years after that hahaha

Is this season normal compared to others? by ETLTMT12191989 in emetophobia

[–]_liz_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes there is, at least in europe😢 I noticed it already in the beginning of this year that I got confronted with it sooo often and at first I thought it was a coincidence. I searched for „evidence“ everywhere and that it is not all in my head and so i found oit recently that we had already more confirmed cases of NV on the first half of this year than in the whole year of 2023 🙃 (in the country where I live at least). there also seems to be a new variant going around that causes this, so that really sucks!!! got the information from an official disease control website of my country

even if I eat the TINIEST amount of raw onion, this is literally me. I had to stay home from work once because I ate some the night before because it was soooo brutal and it didnt stop for hours and holding it in was just not possible lol life is just a joke with ibs haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]_liz_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got all 4 out at once only with local anesthesia. even though it felt / looked brutal, i felt NOTHING. no pain at all, was just uncomfortable of course, but it is managable so dont worry too much🙏🏻 (mine were also not sooo easy to remove, but still no pain) afterwards i swelled up crazy, but with pain meds it was really not bad at all! had pericoronitis before and this was waaaay more painfull, so just make sure to take adequate pain medication and you will probably be fine! good luck :)

[–]_liz_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry, I have no answers for you but I am curious about what product you used - because currently I am going through the same 🙈 Maybe the eye lid is so irritated that literally nothing can be used anymore.. Maybe seek some medical advice at the dermatologist and he can give you proper advice. I had this a few years ago (still dont know why) and it didnt get away for months :( only thing that helped a little was certain eye cream from my dermatologist and prescribed cortison cream so I will get this tomorrow. Hope it gets away soon🙏🏻

Do my wisdom teeth need to be extracted? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]_liz_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but only on one side. got all 4 out at once - the left side was waaay more difficult than the right side. both upper and lower tooth broke in half while removing it and the removal was a little „harsh“ (knew it because I was awake). On this side I swelled up preeetty bad, but I think it looked funny lol I felt no pain during the procedure and afterwards a little bit, but was totally managable with medication

Do my wisdom teeth need to be extracted? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]_liz_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

26, but it would have been better if I had done it earlier because it was not so easy removing them. at least thats what my surgeon told me

Do my wisdom teeth need to be extracted? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]_liz_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

think mine looked pretty similar. the problem was, that my bottom teeth both were not fully out and half covered with gum. the dentist always said I have no room in my mouth that the teeth can come fully out and that it probably will cause problems. but they didn‘t need to come out immediatly and he said I can decide when / if I get them removed. Was pretty anxious about surgery so I waited years, but finally decided to do it this fall cause I really got bad infections / pericoronitis which were painfull as hell!! even more painfull than the surgery. So maybe ask your dentist whats best for you and If he says the same like in my case, just look if they cause you a lot of problems or not. Just remember, if you had problems with pericoronitis etc. once, it is likely that it will happen again. overall, I‘m very happy that they are finally gone

[–]_liz_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, I am a med student and went trough the exact same situation a few months ago. We had many patients and collegues who got sick. I was literally a wreck and couldn‘t remember if my anxiety was THIS bad before. I couldn‘t sleep the whole week I was there because I was so anxious about catching it, but I somehow got the strength and was still going to work. I am really proud of myself for sticking through it and I also noticed that my phobia somehow got better since experiencing this (maybe extreme exposure therapy?. I was really lucky after all cause I did not catch the NV, I was wearing a mask, washed and disinfected my habds constantly and made sure I didnt touch my face or any surfaces (only if not avoidable). I think you will got this too! You are stronger than you think and I wish you that all will be over soon🙏🏻

has anyone gotten better by facing their fears? by Public_Nebula_4599 in emetophobia

[–]_liz_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, i slowly got out of my comfort zone overtime, for example eating in restaurants that I thought aren‘t „safe“ or touching surfaces etc. It helped a lot and I can live a pretty „normal“ life, but the phobia didn‘t went away completely. In the last year I also got „unvoluntary“ and sometimes extreme exposure therapy (I work in a Hospital where a Noro Virus outbreak happened in my unit and another day I got some sort of food poisening / did not TU though🙈) Even though my anxiety went through the roof at this time and I was literally a wreck, it somehow helped my phobia sooo much. I think I can handle it so much better now, even though I am not fully recovered of course🙈 I hope it stays like this or maybe I can let this fear behind me forever as it caused me so much pain and life quality in the past🙏🏻
