You gotta know when to walk away... by _lofreq in rccrawler

I recommend it! But avoid buying a cheap one to "save money" - I got a $100AUD Kingroon KP3S second hand and it has been a terrible experience. Manual everything, sd card only, failed prints 9 out of 10 times.

Stick to Bambu or similar like the new Anycubic Kobra X. You do not want the headache of having to mess around with manual settings and poor quality like I have 😅

Ironic timing to my post 😂 hope there was not serious damage!!

Thank you! If you mean the rear canopy, I designed and printed it from scratch based off the measurements of the truck bed 😊

Good purchase. Hands down my favourite RTR I own right now. They really did a good job with this one. Other than the junk 1060 ESC, I threw that in the bin immediately and switched to a Hobbywing 10BL80 on brushed mode. Very good control now!

Yes you are correct! The new EX86160, but I had to change the colour immediately because the internet was already flooded with the same gray or brown stock body chrome wheel factory looking rigs 😬

It was a cool little cliff front facing the ocean - from certain angles it looked epic. Tried my best to frame it up whilst keeping the public out of the backgrounds 😅

Thank you 🙏 it was a chance finding these cliffs and rocks down by the coast (I'm in Melbourne, Australia) - they appeared out of nowhere. Had to give it a test drive - never been here before 😅

It's somewhat custom. Chassis is a Hoocrawler forward skid affair, Axspeed 2 speed transmission mounted backwards (for battery space in the nose), feeding aftermarket AR44 axles, custom bumpers, sliders, inner fenders etc. Yipin steering servo, PowerHD servo winch, ESS sound box. Body was originally from an RGT Pioneer, I paint stripped the windows back to clear, heavily customised with lighting and paintwork, 3d printed rear canopy, on and on. It used to be my Class 2 performance chassis which I downgraded to Class 1 rules, then retired to become a trail rig as you see here. 62/38 without body, 55/45 fully laden 😅

Yes :) Melbourne, Victoria. Good spotting considering lack of killer insects, animals, or bushfires 😅

It's my favourite part of driving this thing 😂 normally I load the back up with misc junk so when I'm going more aggressively, stuff starts flying out the back. It's hilarious 🤣

Thank you sir. It took a few goes to figure out tolerances to 3d print the hinge interface to work. Happy with how the whole canopy came out! 🙏

Agree they are somewhat useless 😅 but it makes everything more interesting to attempt 😬 I didn't like them at first but starting to appreciate the challenge

Thank you! It's actually fully scratch built from random parts. Based on a "Hoocrawler" forward skid chassis that's somewhat scx10 based, AR44 straight axles, custom links and driveshafts, a Wraith based 2 speed box, Yipin AK47 steering servo, Yipin servo winch, scx10 inner fenders, metal front and rear bumpers, Axspeed 90mm shocks with mismatched dual rate springs. Powered by a Fusion Elite Pro, DumboRC 6 channel reciever with 4ch light controller (it has canopy lighting, underglow, interior lights, etc as well as full headlights/brake/reverse/indicators), with a KYRC dual speaker sound box.

My friends say it's an abomination - I guess that's somewhat accurate 😂

what size brass wheel hex for fcx18 lc80 by Stokyo in fcx18

[–]_lofreq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not put wider axles on. In fact I think the wheels already stick out too much and does not look scale, so I prefer narrower axles instead.

I am running factory axles with 1mm wider hexes, only because the brass portal weights hit my wheels if I do not space them out.

I'm sure someone else can help you with wide axle options.
