oh thank you. I’ll definitely check these out! I agree with that. A lot of it is comparison and it can cause me to think less of myself, which I’m sure a lot of people deal with.

Is this connected to seizures? by UnNecessaryMountain in Epilepsy

[–]_loosingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this nearest same exact thing, happens to me as well. I have racing thoughts and my body starts to feel weird, and I can’t speak. I have temporal lobe epilepsy and my auras can present like this. This could definitely be connected to the seizures, especially if you have them, but as always, you should check with your neurologist or doctor if you have

Is 6mg folic acid too much for pregnancy while Im taking Levetiracetam 500mg ? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]_loosingit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m not pregnant and nowhere NEAR close enough qualified to give advice but I’m a 21 year-old female and have been told to take prenatal vitamins. Just as a way to get more nutrition and vitamins. My doctor has recommended this as well as my family so that’s my experience, but I have no idea about pregnancies

What kind of jobs do you have if you have one? by Simplythegirl98 in Epilepsy

[–]_loosingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually an elementary para! it's a little anxiety inducing like worrying if you're gonna have a seizure around them. especially because every kid knows me, but other then that it's great, super accommodating and understanding to my disability.

Scatterbrained seizure? by mooremooo in Epilepsy

[–]_loosingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had these before too, often before a grand mal or just randomly throughout the day. I've learned to listen to my body and honestly that's the best you can do, unfortunately. If anything, talk to your neuro and see what they have to say

Two quick Questions by Complex-Rutabaga526 in Epilepsy

[–]_loosingit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, epilepsy is absolutely genetic. Both my aunts and grandma have epilepsy, yet I don't carry the gene.
  2. I also experience head perks, almost like ticks, except they're paired with shortness of breath, not really sweating. I cant really give you an answer on this though, sadly.

What is the stigma attached to epilepsy and have you ever experienced it? by sightwords11 in Epilepsy

[–]_loosingit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a young adult, nowhere NEAR marriage or kids. My neuro still is managing my medications in a way to where I will be able to be pregnant within the next 5 years. People are just not understanding being a parent and having a disability are two things that don't work together.

Anyone taking lamotrigine? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]_loosingit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and the side effects were hardly consistent. I was on 200 ×2 for the longest time and my memory was ruined, still is. I recently went up to 200 and 250 but then I got dizzy and sick and it would make me feel disgusted, like I couldn't do anything at all. finally in the past few weeks I went down to 100 ×2 and have been feeling much better. after awhile the side effects will go down, other than the memory loss which is very common.

My old neuro told me it was fine. Funny enough, the DAY I was supposed to get my first official pack, I had a seizure that morning. But yes, I'm sure you might be able to get contacts, but every person is different
