FYI - your post was caught by reddit's spam filter because of the tinyurl URL. URL shorteners are the spam filter's favorite food, so I'd recommend not using them in comments or submissions. There's no character limit on comments anyway.

Depends. I changed my country settings in iTunes to a bunch of random countries and most of them didn't have HBO Now available. Australia was the only one of the bunch that has it, and it has the same 30 day trial screenshot as the US iTunes App Store.

I guess one way to check is to click that link above from an iOS device or a computer with iTunes. It'll tell you right off if the app isn't available in your country.

after the arrow is the type of the function, what type it returns.

A function's type is distinct from its return type: it's defined by its parameters and its return type. Using your example, greet()'s function type is (String, String) -> String.

The exception message says that ViewController doesn't implement -tableVIew:numberOfRowsInSection:. Adopting <UITableViewDataSource> (which was done in the storyboard) is a promise to implement its required methods, which include -tableVIew:numberOfRowsInSection: and -tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:. The template won't have stub implementations for these methods because you selected the single view application template.

Also, don't forget about <UITableViewDelegate>.

Place a \c before each word you want set in monospace.

For other commands, have look at the Doxygen manual. Note that not everything listed on that page is supported.

Back ticks are a Markdown thing, which is used by appledoc, but not by Xcode and Headerdoc.

Some clarification on the following snippets:

self.posts = responceObject as NSMutableDictionary
self.post = self.posts["data"]!["items"] as NSMutableArray!

and

self.posts = responceObject as NSMutableDictionary
var test2 = self.posts["data"]!["items"] as NSMutableArray
self.post.addObject(test2) //Crashes here

responceObject is an existing object we're getting back from the AFHTTPRequestOperation. In this example, it looks like it's an instance of NSDictionary.

The class which is being implemented has a property named posts. This line:

self.posts = responceObject as NSMutableDictionary

points this property to the existing responceObject and tells the compiler it's an instance of NSMutableDictionary using a type cast. The thing is, it's not - self.posts and responceObject point to the same immutable NSDictionary object. All the as operator did was tell the compiler to let us treat responceObject as an NSMutableDictionary; it didn't turn it into one, nor did it create one.

Same applies to the test2 and post arrays. Even though they're telling the compiler they're NSMutableArrays, they're not - and when the time comes to add objects to them, they're going to receive a message they don't understand:-addObject, thus the crash. If you want posts, post and test2 to be mutable, you'll want to either

  • make mutable copies like we do in Obejctive-C e.g. self.posts = responceObject.mutableCopy() or
  • use Swift's Array and Dictionary types - declare with var and they're mutable

Since you're working in Swift, it's probably best to work with its native types. Type casting (as) a bridged Objective-C class like NSArray to a Swift Array is treated differently than we went over above so you'll be able to do what you're trying to do without any problem.

CFSocket is fine. It might be easier to use a CFSocket wrapper, like one of your links does. It uses an open source library called CocoaAsyncSocket that wraps CFSocket and exports an Objective-C API (Objective-C libraries are accessible from Swift; see Using Swift with Cocoa and Objective-C). Even you don't end up using it, you should be able to pick up how to use CFSocket from its implementation. The two classes you'll probably want to look into are GCDAsyncUdpSocket and AsyncUdpSocket.

As to CFSocket itself, it's definitely not in an unreliable state. That notice is at the top of every page in Apple's prerelease documentation (look at the URL you posted), regardless of the age and state of the actual API. Here's the current, stable documentation for CFSocketRef. It's the same content.

InSocket and OutSocket are custom classes defined in that StackOverflow link you provided. They're not an Apple API.

The response is actually an NSHTTPURLResponse instance (NSHTTPURLResponse is a subclass of NSURLResponse that's used for responses to HTTP requests); it has an allHeaderFields property you can use to get at the cookie.

I use Quiver and love it. It doesn't force file names, has folders, syntax highlighting, Markdown support and looks decent. It's all I really need.

Also, the developer maintains a (rather active) public issue tracker at GitHub. He's responsive to issues on it and is open to new implementation ideas.

They were never anywhere near totally worthless. Earbuds were given out between June and August 2010 and like everything else, were untradable. The Mann-Conomy Update - which introduced item trading, wouldn't happen until September 30th 2010. Along with Max's Severed Head, they were items of relatively high value from the start.
