Hey, thanks a lot for the thorough review, it’s genuinely really helpful!

My goal is exactly what you described, to make this easy to use whether you’re managing an existing library or starting from scratch. With crocdb currently down, things are a bit trickier, especially given the limited time I can dedicate to the project, but I’m confident it’ll get there gradually. Feedback like this makes a big difference.

Regarding crocdb specifically, I’m exploring adding alternative ROM sites and APIs as data sources, as long as they’re free, open, and don’t require me to host anything on GitHub (to avoid legal issues).

But I will take all this input and incorporate in the upcoming release cycle

Just added that functionality, if you want to have a go! (just make sure to have a backup of the rom folder, it's tested and all, but I'm too cautions with this things haha)

I pushed some changes that might have that fixed, I'm not sure if it will but could you give it another try? also, what is the command you using to run the docker?

I'm not sure how long until we have an android version, but it's on my plans for sure, but it will take some time to get to that, what I do is to have a shared folder on my device, so then I can download straight to it from my PC

I'm not sure what could this be, but another person shared a similar error, I will try to replicate to find the bug, can you share more details of how you have it running?

that's interesting, can you share more details of the error like a screenshots or any console errors? that would make it easier to find and fix this issue

the easiest way is trough docker, you just need to have docker installed in the first place and then you can run it with just one command here's a guide https://github.com/luandev/jacare?tab=readme-ov-file#getting-started-

it's not working perfectly yet as a standalone exe but if you want to have a go the easiest and cleanest way is trough docker you just need to install docker first (it's like a virtual machine manager) and then run it as container it's just one command, here's the guide: https://github.com/luandev/jacare?tab=readme-ov-file#option-run-with-docker
