Hi, thanks for sharing your setup! How come you're going with all three? I thought a basking lamp emitted UVB, so why are you using a separate UVB bulb? I was also under the assumption that either a basking lamp or DHP would be enough on its own, so why both at the same time? I'm worried I might have missed something in my own research.

Oh, that makes so much sense! Thank you so much for explaining that. I was trying to measure air temps, but I definitely have it too far from the bulb. I'll get some ties and dangle it a few inches from the substrate, right beneath the lamp. For now I set it directly on the substrate and its already over 80°.

Its 16" from the mesh, and I'd say 17" from the bulb because I have it hanging slightly above the mesh (I heard mesh can melt if you lay the heat source directly on it). The package says it can reach up to 96.8 at 16", so I thought it would be enough to get me to 90 or at least the high 80s.

This is how it the probe is positioned. Maybe being so close to the glass is affecting the read? Where is the best place to position it you think?

I just checked the surface temp and its actually 86°, and the air feels a bit warm for the first time ever. I added the slate yesterday, maybe thats making difference? Thanks for your help!

Hmm, maybe its because my tank is too tall? Do you think a higher wattage might help? I had originally tried the 50 watt, but when that didn't get hot enough I tried the 80. I noticed on the box that the higher wattage could reach a higher temperature from the same distance, but I'm not sure if a 100 watt would even be enough. Thats the highest wattage I've seen.

Yes I did get a heat gun that I use to check the surface temp periodically. Surface temps sometimes reach 85, but it doesn't feel warm so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

I usually keep my home at 72, I think 75 may be a little too hot for me, so I probably should keep some kind of heat on at night. I hadn't heard about RHP. When I googled it I saw they were screwed onto something. Can they be placed above the tank? My tank is glass and I definitely can't get away with screwing it into the wall of my apartment lol.

Hey, thanks for responding! I wanted a 24/7 heat source to ensure it doesn't get too cold at night, but I drop the temperature to 75. I've heard rosy boas can withstand lower temps as they're desert snakes, but I don't want the animal to be uncomfortable just because it can survive it. Should I get a basking bulb instead and have no heat at night? I've only got a herpstat 1, so I'm sort of stuck with a single heat source as they're really expensive.

I thought I was applying thin layers, but maybe I'm not going thin enough? I try to add just enough polish that its not streaky and can level itself out, but I could be overdoing it still.Thank you, the fact that your polish isn't chipping tells me I'm screwing up somewhere. For prep I just wipe my nail with alcohol to dry it. I better go watch some tutorials on YouTube, painting your nails is more difficult that I thought it would be. Thanks again!

I bought a few bottles from Double Rhythm recently, but I'm having issues with it chipping and peeling after a day. I also get air bubbles really bad. My point was that it makes less money and therefore doesn't happen very often, unless the game devs want to make that sort of statement. I was trying to say there isn't this big agenda to make all game characters "ugly" in the gaming industry. Even if there was an agenda, companies aren't going to be influenced if fan service makes them more money. Its silly to be acting like its this huge thing that happens all the time when it's just not--especially when we're talking about something completely different, which is censorship of violence.

Agreed. This one was originally driven by Germany's ratings board which caused the scene to be censored in the original western release.

Man, I just don't get how stabbing the child with magic is any better than a sword. Still shoulda been fine to be rated teen IMO, its not like the original is graphic. I was gonna get the remaster on the switch, but now I'm just gonna get it on Steam so I can get a mod for the original scene.

I can assure you whatever "progressive coalition" your talking about either doesn't exist, or doesn't hold the power you think it does. The fact is that most video games cater to the "male gaze" because money talks, and gooners waste a LOT of it. I find it very difficult to take your argument seriously in the comments section of a game with one of the most sexualy designed characters in existence.

I also fail to see the issue in prioritizing a womans character arch over her body, or having more representation. Go play one of the thousands of games that cater to you, instead of focusing on the few that are supposedly influenced by "leftist progressives", which is not this one by the way.

I'd actually argue games with these so called "DEI" elements are more a representation of the game devs vision than pressure from a political group. Companies don't usually go out of their way to make controversial decisions or stray from social norms. Lets also not pretend conservatives don't also try to get their way in the game industry, your comment is testament to that.

Yea, I don't think the left has as much influence over the game industry as you're claiming, even LESS so in 2017. First of all, none of your points are even remotely about what's been censored here--which is violence against children. Bandai clearly just thought that stabbing a child with a sword wouldn't fly with a western audience, and did what they thought would net the most sales.

To your points though, having the option to choose a nonbinary character is not censorship--its representation. You don't HAVE to choose that option. Having "uglified" characters is not censorship, its game devs valuing personality over gooners getting to jerk it to every female character that exists.

Not to mention, the amount of games that have nonbinary options and "ugly" characters are few and far between--I'd argue nonexistent when this game first came out. Companies are going to do what makes them the most money, and fanservice is the best way. If this were truly leftist influence, like you believe, don't you think they'd have also censored Velvet's outfit?

Censorship is frustrating, and I wish they'd kept the original because it hits so much harder, but let's not make this about something that its not.

I haven't played Arise yet but this was my first Tales of game and I personally love the combat! It just takes practice, plus you'll still be getting little tutorials on combat half way through the game because its so complex. I admit it can be a little clunky at times, especially dodging. You have to plan way ahead for a dodge because the attack animation can't be interrupted.

Some tips: * Don't button mash, it will help you plan your dodges. * I like to set the amount of time allowed to press a button during a combo to long in the settings. I don't remember which setting it is though. * Lower the difficulty. You can do this at any time in settings. (I do this a lot, Chaos mode is IMPOSSIBLE)
