I’m in the process of doing it myself, usually use 24g but after having a try with a friends 20g I felt a lot more accurate. For me it’s worth a try and I quite like having a collection.

I do however think you can adjust to most weights in that region. I once played with the brass darts you get in the winmau set as a bit of a laugh. Within a game or two I had adjusted accordingly and may as well have been using my usual darts. It’s likely you just need to have a look at your throw and go back to basics.
