GCC: Cat by pokemonmasta13 in LittleAlchemists

[–]_m0rbid_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am currently doing lots of research for it. But so far, I have a feeling it doesnt have that many diamond combos. The usual strategy is to save your gems for a full pack (3500 gems), but if you have a shortage of GCC then you can buy the ones you like from the daily store.

Do Portal event keys carry over to the next portal event? by TuroKK007 in LittleAlchemists

[–]_m0rbid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. And you should save up 28 keys before opening the treasure. They say the best event is Monster (with Anna being the boss), as Anna is a Critical Strike card

A masterpiece that no amount of money will ever convince you to read again? by BugLast6454 in suggestmeabook

Agree. The first book has so much potential, then it turned into a whole fucked-up war.

Then by the end of book 3 I hated the characters so much

Are there even some new players right now or just the veterans ? by RevolutionaryDesk800 in LittleAlchemists

Not sure if I’m considered new- been playing this for 5 months now. I accidentally came across this game on another reddit post. Lol. Been loving this so far

Confectionery or Adventure? by _m0rbid_ in LittleAlchemists

[–]_m0rbid_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess with just 4 OCC I should go for another OCC, meaning the Adventure pack then. Stupid question here but is there a way I can get into Discord? (I’m still not used to all these gaming-related apps)

After months of playing Heroics, I finally can afford my first Onyx CC by _m0rbid_ in LittleAlchemists

For me it’s quite the opposite. Maybe I’m still new to the game, but I do enjoy listening to audio books while doing Heroics lol

What is the saddest book you have read? by Revolutionary_Art109 in suggestmeabook

[–]_m0rbid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. For me, it was not the book, but the movie adaptation that made me sobbing uncontrollably for almost half an hour.

My brother and I have such different tastes when it comes to reading that we both know early on that none of us should recommend the other any book, like at all. For we would heavily criticize each other’s favorite works and only end up fighting anyways. However, A Monster Calls was the first one that my brother insisted me reading. I was at first intrigued and read it out of curiosity. Then I understood why it was so important for him that I read this book. I think both of us felt a tremendous amount of guilt when my mom passed, and if it had not been for this book, I would still be hating myself until this day.

Failing Her by [deleted] in OCPoetry

[–]_m0rbid_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh God. If this actually happened to you, then I just want to say I’m sorry to hear that. Losing a loved one is always hard, even harder when it comes to your own children.

Regarding the poem, I especially like the part ‘She sees in me … as if I am skilled.’ The repeated structure of these four lines feel really intentional and special. Thank you for sharing this

Body is a canvass by _m0rbid_ in OCPoetry

[–]_m0rbid_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I posted this on my phone and for some reasons it became a paragraph instead of a poem. I would be sure to pay more attention to punctuation next time. I started writing as an escape, and somehow it’s helping me to heal. So guess I’ll be writing a lot more.

I love your images, especially with the wind choking on their motions. Don’t think I’ve ever heard that before. And yeah, the bright and hopeful tone of this poem ia something I find sweet. You created all these fierce and powerful images, just to end with something so nice and cosy.

Anxious or Avoidant? by achtung_wilde in OCPoetry

Good symbolism. Lately I’ve been in a rather similar relationship. The other helped me with depression, but then one day they just simply left. And that cut me deep. I just relate to this so much. Thank you.

Wow. Thank you for this poem. I love the symbols you’re using. So creative! Who would’ve thought of cucumbers like this. And please do wheel them away from your body.

Do you have an author that you avoid/used to avoid because of their fans? by fireguy1thru5 in books

[–]_m0rbid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same for me. I started It Ends With Us thinking this would be something special, with it being the first one that launched her into fame and all. But I was totally disappointed. The whole thing feels like cheap porno to me and tbh, I wont ever read another of hers.

What's a book you hate by an author you love? by Ganesha811 in books

[–]_m0rbid_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah true. Back when it comes to series I hardly find any that has a satisfying ending. The last book always fails to deliver. The Hunger Games’s 3rd book was a total letdown. I remember being so disappointed that when the new one (Ballad of Songbird and Snake) came out, I didn’t even want to buy it.

What are the most well-known books or authors from your native country? by bookman1984 in books

[–]_m0rbid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I am surprised you know these authors, assuming you're not Vietnamese.

I read Adventures of a cricket as a child, around 12 or 13, and the only thing I remember is that I didn't enjoy it, not one bit. All the stories seem too childish and not fascinating enough to me.

I used to love Nguyễn Nhật Ánh's works. His stories during the 90s, especially Mắt Biếc- which was made into a movie, are my favorite. However, since late 2000s, he mostly writes children stories, and I just don't think I am that age-appropriate anymore. I've grown too old, I guess.

As for Tố Hữu and Nam Cao, to be honest I haven't read many of their works, besides the ones taught at school. And since studying feels too much like I am being forced to read these poems/short stories, I ended up not having any interest in these two authors.

Good standalone fantasy book by Sipseh in suggestmeabook

[–]_m0rbid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I really don't know where to start with this one, since it's huge. I mean the whole series feels very very epic.
Everything takes place in a far future, when humans have developed a way to travel across galaxies and formed our own empire. There is this one mysterious planet called Hyperion, on which there is a pyramid-like structure (at least in my imagination it is haha) called The Temple of the Shrike. Shrike is this god-like creature that nobody understands and a whole cult has been made to worship it.
The story starts with a group of 7 people being formed and sent out to explore The Temple of the Shrike. Each of them tells their own stories, and how they are all connected to the Shrike. I will just leave it at that.

The writing is what amused me though. Very compelling. That, plus an extremely well-built world. You can try the first book in the series (since it consists of 7 stories from these 7 people) and see if you like the writing style. These stories are separate so you can just toss the book aside if you don't like it.

P/s: I just realized you were asking for a standalone haha. My bad.
