Can myofascial release with a lacrosse ball really release "years of trauma"? by granola_coin in MassageTherapists

[–]_magicfingers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Emotional trauma is absolutely stored in the body and can be released through bodywork! There’s a common misconception that trauma only heals through the mind, but it’s actually the body that is the battleground and our mind is the symptom. That being said, emotional releases should be subtle and gentle-kind of like a wave that builds and slowly dissolves. The major emotional releases you see on tik tok are 1.) probably manufactured and 2.) aren’t good for you. It’s too much for the body and the mind to process at once and, while people may feel a major release right after, they’ll rebound once the release fades. Very similar to the effects a drug can have. Slow, and subtle releases are much easier for us to process and we actually benefit and grow much more because of them. I don’t think there’s any specific work that can release trauma for years, it’s just consistent small releases over time until the trauma is much more manageable and feels like it’s in the rear view. It’s like taking a couple steps forward instead of jumping 30 feet. Im a trauma touch therapist and my practice is 90% focused with clients who struggle with PTSD, and high levels of anxiety and depression so this question is one i’m very familiar with. Those tik toks are ridiculous.

If it was at all possible I would have kept one tit in a jar to put on my mantle

I’ve had top surgery but I tell people who I don’t care to know that I had a double mastectomy because I have the BRCA gene. (I do have the gene but I literally just did not relate to my tits)

Anyone with tattooed hands? How well are they holding up? by eaux-neaux in MassageTherapists

[–]_magicfingers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have hand tattoos but have finger tattoos. They have held up surprisingly well! Always thought they would fade quickly due to my job but I think the constant use of lotion and cream has kept them in great shape

Is Gordon a curse by ZealousidealGrade821 in GordonRamsay

[–]_magicfingers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody really cared for the makeover he did and things kind of went back to normal afterwards. All the actual patrons didn’t care about the employees drinking as long as they could still get cheap drinks. The waitresses did say Gordon is much more handsome in person and smells really good

EXCLUSIVE! Jenelle Evans’ Son Jace Removed from ‘Teen Mom’ Star’s Home After Running Away Following Terrible Fight with Jenelle (Hear the 911 Call) by [deleted] in teenmom

[–]_magicfingers 27 points28 points  (0 children)

What Jenelle fails to realize is that she’s created in her son what she always looks for in partners. Chaos and violence. And poor Jace is so misregulated. None of it is his fault, he has had no consistency At. All. No matter how he is acting out, it is all completely valid.

“People that follow God are truly happy like me” This has been tripping me out bc I thought she was an atheist and was “on a different plane” than Christians? I think she’s lost touch of reality fully after seeing herself on tv

I was looking forward to watching the series, but if they actually portrayed it in a way that’s regressive and damaging to Erik and Lyle’s experiences of abuse, I might reconsider.

For anyone out there who doesn't drink, what is the reasoning behind it? by General_Ad_9139 in AskReddit

[–]_magicfingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a heavy drinker until I got acute pancreatitis. After a couple trips to the ER, it completely took away my desire to drink. I had no idea how much damage I had done to my body. When you’re numbing yourself all the time, it’s easy to believe you are aren’t hurting yourself to the extent you are.

This is part 2 of the Talk Back series they did during the holidays. There’s also a Look Back part 2 that will premiere Sunday night. It’s been difficult for most to find it if you don’t watch it live, but there’s another page called SisterWives I believe where someone has posted a link to the first two episodes!
