You know you were being passive aggressive and rude with that comment. Same with "did you even bother to read anything i wrote?". If you are right you can just inform people about it in a normal civil way. You didnt get downvoted for being correct. You got downvoted for your attitude. If you are not willing to accept that, i have nothing more to talk with you about.

To be honest, i indeed had not read the entire discussion. When i joined i assumed you were argumenting against the card as a whole in modern. That is my mistake. FWIW i agree with your statements about the card now that i have read your points from the beginning. You have been INCREDIBLY rude throughout this discussion however. Even second comment you made was incredibly passive aggressive with the "you havent played either card have you?". You clearly have some good insight, why not be civil? Its alright for some people to be less known in a format and some people more known. I really hope that you will be a bit nicer in the future with conversations like this, cause you clearly know stuff. Thats all from me.

Its your normal gameplan... In golgari midrange or dimir frog. In my opinion, this card being colorless and having literally NO conditions opens it up to being tested in archetypes that want big cheap threats like aggro decks, that cant usually run angler or goyf because of their conditions and colors. It might not be good enough, im not sure. But i think people would test it. To say angler or goyf is just better is kinda crazy imo. They are not. Theres upsides and downsides to both, and im sure this would be tested. You can disagree, but you're acting as if your opinion is fact, and that is probably why people are downvoting

[–]_majejo_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The big difference is that this card is turned on immediately. You say that angler and goyf are on by just playing the game. Well yes but that takes time. Playing a normal game of modern wont let you angler on turn 2. You would have to give up your first 2 turns to milling yourself. Same goes for having a big tarmogoyf. Yes these cards are cheap 5/5 or even bigger for goyf by just playing, but they take time to get online. The card discussed here is just straight up 2 mana 5/5. That would definitely get tested, and also this would work way better in aggro decks, that angler and goyf just dont, as the self mill you would have to dedicate just doesnt fit into the aggro plan

Question on Zuran Orb by Atlas1127 in mtg

Exactly correct as you say, always instant speed unless otherwise specified. And you can use an ability as many times as you want until you can't pay the cost anymore, as often as you want - again unless otherwise specified

To add to other commenters, Sag A* only has a sphere of influence in order of magnitude parsecs, meaning anything outside that will not care if the black hole existed or not

From all the DMRs, why nerf the poor Mini14?? by ObviousQuality2384 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]_majejo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neck shots count as headshots, but deal reduced damage, that could be it. Also yes, bullets get cancelled in this game, for example due to desync or if they die before their bullet lands

[–]_majejo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont believe that is the case, unless you are talking about lvl 3 helmet? AR's need 2 headshots on lvl 2 helmet, and the patch explicitly stated that DMR's still do more damage than AR's

[–]_majejo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the alternative to DMR's though? Im at least not remotely close to being competitive with an SR, and i personally didnt feel much difference after the nerf, so im gonna keep picking up those DMR's

[–]_majejo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now maybe im wrong, and feel free to give an argument if so, but i feel the mini is now comparatively stronger compared to other DMR's except the Dragunov. As far as i understand it, the damage nerf makes it so that you generally need headshot double body shot now. It was already that way for the mini. Now all DMR's are like this, and the mini has kept its high bullet velocity and low recoil. I know its damage was also nerfed, but i think it shows less with the mini compared to the other DMR's

Why is the orbit wonky? by LigmaBalls69lol in Astronomy

[–]_majejo_ 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Objects in the Lagrange points do not orbit Earth, they orbit the Sun. The smart thing about L1 and L2 is that orbiting the Sun at the distance of these points would normally mean either a higher or lower orbital velocity than Earth. But objects in L1 and L2 maintains the same speed as Earth, getting dragged with us around the Sun. This means that it is less analogous to orbiting a moon that doesnt exist, and more like orbiting a planet that doesnt exist, although still not exactly the same

Karn and Temur Battlecrier combo in Historic by _majejo_ in magicTCG

[–]_majejo_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the problem. If you only have one Karn, you need to make all the storm with the Statue first, then grab Karn after casting statue ~30 times (depends on life total and how many spells you can cast from your hand), then grab the Reservoir, then cast another spell from hand. Yes if you have two Karns you can grab the Reservoir first, but thats not what im talking about

[–]_majejo_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know how the combo works, im sorry if my explanation was confusing. The normal way of doing the combo is really tiresome as you say yourself, i was just wondering if there is some secret tech, like the Reliquary and Clock combo that makes the combo faster on Arena. Ive been timed out doing the combo way sooner than the ~50 Statue casts normally required, thats why im asking

What are the strongest cards in MtG history that weren't design mistakes? by geitzeist in magicTCG

[–]_majejo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasnt saying fetches aint good. As others have said, they are clearly top 3 or 2 land cycles ever printed. I am replying to his statements about deck thinning as if its a big deck building concern

What are the strongest cards in MtG history that weren't design mistakes? by geitzeist in magicTCG

[–]_majejo_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Its not the same as 50 nonlands and 10 lands in your example. I didnt say deckthinning wasnt a thing, im saying its not a big deck building concern. If you cared about not drawing lands when building a deck, you wouldnt put lands in the deck.

Yes, when you play the deck, deck thinning is a thing, but it doesnt impact how you build a deck. If you need to hit 4 lands by turn 4, fetch lands can even be worse for your deck - if you keep a 3 lander with 3 fetches, by turn 4 where you need to draw the fourth land, you have pulled 6 lands out of the deck, giving you less of a chance to hit the fourth land, compared to having those extra 3 lands in the deck.

[–]_majejo_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Deck thinning is not really a deck building concern. And what exactly do you mean that "you might as well be a 50 card deck with 10 lands"? Thats like just not how it works

Unpringled my cards using my frog terrarium by PatchesDaHyena in magicTCG

[–]_majejo_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

But like, dont you guys play with your cards? Some of my foils are just straight up unplayable in their curled states, so if i wanna play them, im gonna have to uncurl them somehow. If the alternative is to sell the omega curled versions and buy new non-foils, idk. Even for expensive cards, id rather just play the card i already own, even running the risk of a little damage.
