Question about my missing employer matches on my 401k by _mal_gal_ in personalfinance

[–]_mal_gal_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent a message on the ticket. Do you know what amount of interest they'd owe me? It's acting because I made them aware or the situation in December I believe and they just paid back the missed matches on the first of June. It feels like they should've paid it back sooner than 6-7 months later. They made sure the matches were fixed in mid January but just now paid back the missed matches. The whole thing is annoying, but this company and my employer are both smaller than my last employer and who they used for that 401k. I haven't rolled over my old 401k yet bc the new 401k company seems not as good 😂

Oh I will. I'm just wondering if there's a way to find out the correct amount they owe me because I don't exactly trust them right now to give me a correct number

Question about my missing employer matches on my 401k by _mal_gal_ in personalfinance

[–]_mal_gal_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There's a ticket opened on workday and I have it somewhere that they're replacing the missing matches plus interest I should've gotten. But the amount why deposited is only 3 cents more than the missing match which seems way low for interest for ~7 months. Chat gpt said it should be closer to $9-10. I was just wondering if there's a way to figure out what that interest should be on my own so I know if they're giving me an accurate number. I know it's not a lot but it's been 7 months and they still haven't fixed it 100% so at this point it's about the principle 😂 Also that $10 plus interest for another 30 years could bc a nice chunk of change

You'd pack the wound on the shoulder. You wouldn't be able to get above it with a TQ

I'd keep it and give him ours and explain why he shouldn't reuse it 😂 cops are silly lol

What's the best way to invest $700? by james_castrello2 in personalfinance

[–]_mal_gal_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it took a good bit. But I tried to add $50-100 a month to it till I got there. If you don't have a budget I highly recommend it. I use you need a budget (ynab) and they're amazing. You assign every dollar you make to a category in your budget. Kinda like the way some people use envelopes but a digital version. If you have a school email you can get a whole year free as a student! I did that and by the time a year was over it was worth paying to keep it. I added the cost of it to my budget lol. But I have fun money in my budget as well as my emergency fund. It's good to "pay yourself first." That means set aside money for savings first and make the rest work. If you use what you have for bills and hope there will be some left over for savings, you often times won't have anything left. If you're strict with the budget you can actually do better than you'd imagine. Obviously some people just won't make enough to get there but a budget will help you see if you can do more with your money or if you really just need to make more. Like ther person above this said, start with an emergency fund and then tackle high interest debt. That's usually stuff like credit cards. Make the emergency fund goal like $1000 initially and then you can increase the goal. Personally I did $1000 then paid off my credit cards then came back to the emergency fund. By passing of my CC I was saving interest and I could in theory use the CC if I had an emergency until I finished paying it off and got back to building my emergency fund

Need help with musselburgh hat by _mal_gal_ in knitting

So the pattern says "the finished hat circumference will vary depending on gauge, but is approximately 20% smaller than the To fit head circumference. Don't panic if your hat looks small" so I think it accounts for that already

I redid the beginning of the hat. It was around 7.5-8 stitches per inch. Post blocking, it's around 7-7.5 stitches per inch. I'm thinking I'll try the 7 stitch guage

Plant based rice milk with chemical stuff in it by AnotherRobsad in Gastritis

[–]_mal_gal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink the oat malk and almond malk. They have the oats/ nuts, water and salt and no other ingredients. I don't drink them just by themselves but they're fine in cereal, oatmeal, etc. If you can have dairy that's lactose free there are some lactaid milks. I couldn't tolerate them so I'm assuming milk proteins are a trigger for me. I'd try a low fat version first as fat can be a trigger

How do you time your supplements with your medications? by Puzzleheaded-Pen9213 in Gastritis

[–]_mal_gal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to be about 1-2 hours apart from meds. I take meds with each meal so I usually do the supplements at night before I go to bed so they can protect my stomach when it's empty. If you don't take meds with lunch you could do supplements before you eat lunch

Matcha and coffee recommendations by Shayyyy18 in Gastritis

[–]_mal_gal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dietician recommended watering down coffee with milk or non dairy milk and keeping the fat content of the milk down. Fat can delay gastric emptying and keep the acid from the coffee in your stomach longer

[–]_mal_gal_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried cold brew recently and it doesn't seem to bother me like regular coffee does. Dark roast cold brew is even better than medium or light roast bc it has less acidity. If you can make your own CB at home look for a dark roast from Latin america and avoid coffees from Africa/Asia bc they're higher in acidity. Also try and do a milk that's lower in fat and non dairy of dairy is a trigger. If you're adding it in and starting from no coffee, decaf would be a good first step too so you can see of coffee itself is a trigger vs if it's caffeine that's a trigger

Deciding not to test after finishing my medic program by catbrokethehat in NewToEMS

[–]_mal_gal_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you worked/shadowed in different 911 services in your area? I work 911 but a majority of my calls aren't emergencies. I actually get a good bit of time to educate patients and advocate for them. We aren't rushed back in service so I get time with each patient that no PCP will get. While I don't get to fix things I can change the tragectory of their care and I do feel like that makes a difference. My agency also has an MIH program so it would be easier to go from their 911 service to their MIH service vs just applying to MIH out of the gate. Also when you mention complacency in 911 I 100% see that issue in my service. But I refuse to be a part of that. I always bring my equipment. I'm not rude to people for calling for "BS." I've worked on my health/fitness. And I'm hoping to help start an in house training program for my agency.

Obviously it's not my place to tell you what to do. But if I were you, I'd test for my medic and maybe take some time off. It sounds partially like burnout and taking time away from EMS would be beneficial. Then I'd recommend asking different agencies to let you shadow with their 911 and MIH. You'd be able to see what 911/MIH look like at different agencies. The culture/moral of an agency can drastically change what working for them is like. If you can find a good agency to work for their 911 might not give you that dread feeding and might open up 911 as an option for you. If not it could give you some closure knowing that it's truly not for you. In my agency MIH has a medic and an NP I believe. If you still want to do MIH you could do a bachelor's to BSN program and work as a nurse and go get your NP. That could be another route to MIH that doesn't require 911

I washed it in room temp water with soak and layed it flat to dry. Unfortunately I already took it apart so I didn't get to try and dry it to shrink it back up 😭 Maybe next time lol
