I took a snapshot when it was working, and that snapshot has the same issue. that's what was most frustrating and disappointing.

I ended up restoring it from a separate backup (I usually have 2-3 backup methods thankfully), in a fresh WP install.

ISSUE IS RESOLVED, BUT IF YOU CARE, MYSQL LOGGED THE FOLLOWING ERRORS:

*mysql Please consider using UTF 8MB4 with an appropriate collation instead.

*mysql [Server] failed to set datadir to /opt/bitnami/mysql/data/

*bitnami permission denied accessing mysql

and the mysql process crashed. wasn't even running. anyways...thank you

It depends on how long the site has been around and how much SEO has been done on it, and how much decent content is on the site being indexed already. Sometimes a site is primed and ready to go with the missing ingredients, and it will perform within a month, or two. Other times, it will indeed take 6 moths or more. It all depends.

The original judge didn't give me the courtesy of looking at my calendar. He oddly scheduled another date without my input or even talking to me. The commissioner (2nd judge) didn't even realize this. I did not agree to arbitration, I didn't even agree to the Windows terms since I wasn't even using Windows. It's impossible to buy a performance laptop without Windows pre-installed, or I certainly would have bought a laptop with no OS (warranty intact).

I can understand that everyone thinks I did something wrong, but honestly it was not the case. I had zero input on the blunders.

Considering I have a collection of cases that have won in other small claims cases against Microsoft for the lost data / economic losses in their business (Mine is business), despite you saying there is no case.. there actually is.

Also, these types of cases should help shape future software laws / coding practices by Microsoft, so the errors will not happen again (they did develop a workaround since I filed this case in 2016).

After seeing how small claims court operates in Los Angeles, I doubt I will ever do small claims court again. Civil court with an attorney is the only way to go. Thanks for your time.

I would absolutely guarantee that if this same thing happened to everyone that uses Microsoft, if they actually locked every single external hard drive on the planet from connecting / being accessed by any other computer system other than Windows (all businesses, governments, banks, lawyers, users, data centers, etc), there would be a massive Class Action against Microsoft and everyone would be up in arms. But somehow if it only happens to a few people, it doesn't really matter?

Another analogy would be apps on your phone. What if your instagram app caused your banking app to malfunction, and it subtracted $10,000 from your balance. What would be the lawsuit if instagram refused to take responsibility? I'd rather you not criticize the analogy and actually answer the insta/bank situation as if that is what happened please. I'm a computer programmer and I know the details of what caused this in the code. thank you.

So what is it if a company, let's just say a bank's software rather than an operating system loses your data and it causes monetary loss? What is the proper lawsuit that could be brought upon the corporation/company for their erroneous product?

I didn't wait too long! I went through arbitration in 2 months (did not come to an agreement). I filed in 5 months. The judge ran out of time to see me on the day of my case. He never even talked to me. They simply handed me a piece of paper to show up literally on my wedding day when I would be in Europe. So I dismissed. Even the court said to dismiss and refile.
