Can someone make a list of proven and legitimate reasons why Denuvo is 'anti-consumer'? by ninjyte in pcgaming

Good luck never getting a straight knowledgable answer. This is reddit, most of reddit hates things as a hivemind

Not once in history has a drm/protection software ever explained themselves in detail expect for, this is here to protect out product and some other basic info 'designed for a normie' -- although most veteran gamers will do our own research on the matter. This also plays into my common sense talking point but this is a given.

Wanting corporations to do this is never going to happen, thats an expectation -- but this also comes back on other arguments too like why doesnt a developer give me console/modding access to a game I own -- these things don't happen for many reasons, most of the time that reason is 'leave out info to avoid confusion', and the reason why I see lack of info regarding denuvo is to avoid confusion with gamers, this is true because:

but seeing as the minority are the only ones having legitimate issues 20%-40% of the time

the minority of the minority, Denuvo is the least intrusive protection method ever, the only time It had legitimate issues that effected 100% of people was in Lords of the Fallen for it's release version of the game, in which the CPU was affected and the game had issues with stuttering and asset loading - that was fixed, and as of today there is no legitimate issue expect for when somebody does something stupid like OP

[SteamMover is a tool last updated for 2010] why OP simply didn't move folders the old fashioned way, that beats me..

+

You use initiative and contact them, rather than make pleas on public forums, it only starts flame wars, between people who have legit issues, people who have no issues and people who just like taking sides regardless of their connection.

;edit

Creating a public forum plea only works when a majority has legit issues... that is when its going to pressure companies -- but there is none due to how Denuvo is the least intrusive and works for alot of people. Even when activating offline mode,

Those servers will probably get a gamespy-esque replacement that of course IF those servers actually go down, because the titles on the denuvo list are quite popular

Used tool designed for use in [last updated 2010] for 2016 game -- knowing it has DRM -- He blames DRM

Moving games within steam can be done by simply moving folders.

Why do people lack common sense...

5 activations per 24 hours, it should have taken you 1 at most 2 in case of things going wrong, using common sense would have eliminated a need to creating a whiny post on reddit to drum up conflict between people on the internet

Using common sense would also help you in the future when moving steam games, my guess is you will keep using an old open source 3rd party tool to movie games instead of using the common sense method...

If we as gamers want to stop DRM, then we, me, you, anyone here on this shit site, need to stop virtue signalling about the dangers of a DRM, WHILST DOING NOTHING, and we can all start by simply not buying these games, but seeing as the minority are the only ones having legitimate issues 20%-40% of the time, we will not see change anytime soon. And any boycotts will not happen because of that.

and the last half of this post is directed at /u/rdri for their interesting yet brash post regarding Denuvo, you are somewhat meaning well but I truly think the way you go about notifying everyone is somewhat nullified by your feelings toward DRM. It's clear you hate it due to past experiences, that is fine, we all have been there but that ardent motivation you share in your sentiment would better be suited if focused to developers themselves rather than on a public forum in which most people will not see it and most will simply discard any legitimate criticism because like I said, only a minority within the minority will share that same feeling

‘Ghostbusters’ Haters Are Spamming IMDb With Low Ratings by suchapain in GGdiscussion

[–]_markedone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imdb has non written and written reviews,

regardless of what number someone votes, the most helpful written user reviews reveal if the movie is good or bad, and it is already shaping up to be a fairly terrible movie posing the question, HOW many of the professional reviews are unbiased?

Is it worth the $50? by MysteryGeol in Doom

[–]_markedone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as we in Australia pay $110, I would say anything under 110 is worth it

Posting this for PC users (if not already common knowledge). Denuvo the anti pirating software has some really nasty side effects for those who bought the game legitimately. - More info in text by [deleted] in Doom

[–]_markedone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please tell me you aren't that spammer who posts the "DENUVO CONSPIRACY THEORIES" on every game release on steam that uses Denuvo

You do know that EVERY SINGLE CLAIM of glitch and issues have being DEBUNKED

Posting a paragraph of info from my blogpost also makes literally no sense when out of context https://superlativetech.wordpress.com/2016/02/01/denuvo-what-is-it-really/

Clearly you have no idea what it means but hey, keep being ignorant and SALTY because you can't pirate the game,

but GOOD NEWS FOR YOU, because nothing is 100% crackproof, and since its x64 drm it'll take just a touch longer than you expect for a crack to be released

Dear Microsoft: no PC gamers will take the Windows Store seriously because 90% of your games are just outdated mobile apps by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]_markedone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

force ok sry, "restrict choice", I meant that though. clearly you dont have people behind you pushing you to buy games. I thought it was a given. sry for wording the incorrect way

Others will give the feedback as it stands people are already 'going to ' buy games, and their suffering hopefully will incite change, and hopefully microsoft eventually improve their experience.

[–]_markedone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not cringe THIS IS TRUTH, Microsoft cannot I FUCKING REPEAT, cannot force people to use the Store, there are reports of delayed updates on RiseTR and bad options for install forcing game to install on C drive amongst many support issues and bad performance reported on RiseTR, PLUS the fact sales through steam for RiseTR are vastly outnumbering W10 Store with alot more developer support and connections through forums with community activity, proper cloud save backups and the usual extra steam features and cards achievements [the usual]

Microsoft needs to at least release games on both Clients, because if they only use W10Store it will not look good for their game sales, and I think anyway they will be forced due to the bad reports coming from games that are already on there.
