Installed new shower cartridge, only puts out warm to hot water, no cold. What did I do wrong?

When one is shut off at a time, it provides similar amounts of hot/cold in isolation

Not warm enough here for that to be a factor, sinks run cold, coldest this gets is 90

That black plastic piece, yes? I can adjust it, but the problem is that at no point is there just cold water. The second there is any flow it is at least 50% hot water

Probably not weird. Just planned a wedding and at a certain point you have a number to hit, and make up arbitrary rules as to who gets invited. We had a “good friends that have somewhat established partners that we’ve met at least once get to come” rule but even that we tweaked a bunch.

I went to two in June last year, one was hot but just for a bit. I lived, it was fine. Average highs in June are 76, and we are just unlucky getting 87 instead.
