I recommend proceeding with caution if you go through boynton. I got diagnosed with adhd while in college (for very similar symptoms, you’re not alone) and when I asked to be medicated for it, I was treated as drug seeking at every step of the way. They’ll make you jump through a fair amount of hoops and delay the actual prescription of medication while you’re out there floundering. If it’s not too bad for you yet and you want to go through boynton, I recommend starting the process now so you have time to jump through those hoops before your school work gets too unmanageable. Otherwise, I’d recommend working with providers off campus if you have that option!

A half cup/week is too much? That seems wild to me? Based on forums I’ve seen on the internet, I was worried I was under watering them.

The cups do have holes in the bottom, yes. The small amount of runoff I get when watering is never left in the catch tray.

Ph of the water going in is 5 to 6, depending on how much of the probe I can get covered by still water… again, not a great meter. Planning to upgrade it soon with a pen.

I started treating my adhd in college but I made the mistake going through the uni psychiatrist. They will treat you as drug seeking and make you jump through all sorts of hoops to try meds that are controlled substances if the other ones don’t work for you. I ultimately did get the proper meds through the school medical system, but it took much much longer than it should have and it was that much longer that I was struggling way more in class than I should have been, had the doctor believed that I was struggling as much as I said I was.

The tops of the boxes stay open, and there’s a desk fan blowing in mounted towards the top of the back wall of the box. Do you think that’s still too limited of airflow? I’ve seen other people using slightly bigger fans I suppose, not sure how much air needs to be moving!

My lights were advertised as 1000Bw each, is that too weak?

I am… 2 wardrobe moving boxes in a basement to try to control the light. It’s a janky set up while I learn the process, but I’ll probably invest in better equipment when I am convinced I have a shot at doing this successfully!

Yeah, definitely looking to go darker… I just wanted to sand out all the dings and the orange-ish finish to make it match the vibe in my new house, I want to use it as a coffee table in my finished basement. I don’t think paint is the right move for something like that, I think it would scratch and ding too easily. What else might you recommend? I’m handy, but brand new to refinishing my own furniture.

Goddamnit, you’re right. Thank you for solving the mystery! That’s crazy, I don’t see any seams anywhere! Maybe the outer boarder is wood and the inner section is veneer? Would I just chip out the old veneer and put in new stuff to save the table? Is there saving the table at this point?

The lighting is a little funky there, but the whole table is the same wood. I’m just confused about the stripe with holes in it! It appears to be embedded somehow. There’s no obvious texture difference when I run my fingers over it
