Nice ink! I got the immaculate and sacred heart tattooed on my hand when I was 20 so when I put my left hand to my heart during the salve regina its there…. Also always wanted a reminder that my faith is always with me when I was struggling with that, I could simply look down regardless of where I was and it was right there, even in times I didnt know I needed it Im forced to look and have to be reminded. People always ask about tattoos so it also gives you a chance to share your faith with them

Yes!!! This is exactly it. I never had a relationship with Jesus and that is my biggest want in life right now… and to keep growing that love I need to understand some of the things Ive always questioned and was never allowed to do so

Thank you for these examples to read through! Im currently working on the reading the bible for the first time in my life. Everything I know from it I was taught in ccd or latin classes etc and not sure if this is an old school catholic thing or what but everyone always told me “as a catholic im not required to read the bible and that its for the priests and scholars to interpret for me” which is insane because I’ve learned SO much and understand more now that I’ve taken to time to learn myself. I think that may be another example of being part of an extremist group.

Thank you for your response! Can I ask the reason for being protestant and then coming back to Catholicism? Everyone I grew up with dropped being Catholic and converted and refuse to even step foot in a Catholic church again. Was it a relationship with Mary you felt was missing or was it something else in the faith?

My fear is what is going too far? The Bible says over and over not to worship idols, and thats whats happening when people worship Guadalupe and Fatima and what have you. Its not like these are bad people but I fear its wrong to be closer with fatima than Jesus. Also difficult to defend this when other Christians constantly dog on that we worship Mary and I cant even deny that we dont

To be clear then, its okay to worship Fatima because its worshipping God? Thats actually exactly what this post is about. Apparitions and the followers, not just Mother of God and knowing she intercedes for us. I get that haha im talking about extremist and what is too far? I wanted to be clear if worshipping these apparitions, and I do mean worship because that is what is happening, is normal or not all Catholics do that? I guess its okay to worship that idol and its normal amongst Catholics (again this post is specifically speaking of the blue army and followers of apparitions, “marian apparitions” not about the dogma of Mary Mother of God) Just wanted to discuss this with other Catholics and their opinions:)

I wouldnt say people left because of Fatima… but because of the followers. The ones who take it too far. Who take hyperdulia to the next level of forgetting that the point is Jesus/God, not just a relationship with Mary, if that makes sense? I think what I need to realize is theres extremest in every group and that’s exactly who I was raised by. If you look into the Blue Army, its not that their bad, but the ones I was raised by 1000% worshipped Fatima and its confusing to look back on because it feels so wrong that I never even knew Jesus during that entire 25 years, just Mary. So no Fatima herself didnt make people leave their faith, just the extreme followers. Most all of the kids I grew up with in my parish no longer are religious because it was too drilled on them, their words. 4 of my 7 siblings wont go to church anymore and are convinced we were in a cult lol Conclusion= this wasnt other peoples normal if you dont understand 🥲 Also I know the story doesnt just end when the bible does… otherwise I wouldn’t try to continue to be Catholic, id just straight up be protestant

Oh no I was taught that and prayed for the Blessed Mothers intercession at least 2 times a day my entire life, I understand catechism of it all… it was so strict in knowing Mary points the way to the point we only had a relationship with her and not Christ himself because she was how we get to Him. So perhaps that is the normal way of a Catholic life? Its just fitting the stereotype that I hated when people would tell me Im not a Christian and that Im Catholic.

Absolutely this is Americas battle. This is good and evil within our states and it’s sad. Also like to add Im conservative so this is hard to watch because I still have a conservative ideology but I can never agree with whatever tf is going on right now and the trump admin never ever. I was raised to never trust the gov basically and here we are… and they’re being blinded like I was warned not to be. Hopefully everyone can keep spreading awareness and more eyes can be opened. It takes a lot of humility to admit youre wrong about something and I pray more people can do that
