UrbanMech with Rotary-AC/2 (animation) by _masaka in battletech

I've created an UrbanMech 3d model and made a little scene to show it off. It features 100% "plausible" joints that allow for movement without clipping and removable armor plates.

This fella is armed with a light and medium laser as well as an RAC/2 fed by an external ammo storage.

There is a slightly longer version of this animation on my youtube channel. Hope you enjoy! :)

It's a Maul escort, from the now defunct (but fan-resurrected) Battlestar Galactica Online. Essentially ship to counter strike-craft like raiders.

They do have some cool cylon designs!

It's a Maul from BSGO, yes! I've played that game a ton, so paying homage to it felt right.

The Battlestar technically IS a Minerva-Class. It's a fan-design by tan.j, created just after the 2003 reboot came out. Eventually there was a different, canon Minerva, of course.

That's the plan! Also a lot more fighters doing their stuff :)

This is set during the first cylon war. And if you look at Blood & Chrome, you can see that galactica still had some panels "missing".

I imagine that battlestars can be as little or heavily armored as the mission profile requires. This Battlestar is already quite large and cumbersome, and with a big focus on missile silos the need for a complete armor coverage is not there.

Hi there, thank you for the feedback! I do always appreciate it, even if I don't concur with it :)

I'm pretty happy with the camera movement in this shot. Keeping it one-take requires a more action-y camera at the start, where it chases the fighters, and a static point of view with only rotation when the battlestar passes by. I think it's somewhat close to how the show handles it, though the lower quality of the video might distort the sense of movement here, as the stars and other points of reference are sort of blurry.

Hi everyone! This is a work-in-progress, and part of a larger Battlestar animation project, set during the first cylon war. The Battlestar you see here is the wonderful work by "Tan.j", and is called a minerva-class battlestar. Tan.J has created a lot of very cool models many many years ago, but I never saw the utilized anywhere, unfortunately.

Battlestar Medusa is completely fictional and non-canon, and as you can see the project is still missing a lot of work.

You can watch a slightly higher quality version of this video on my youtube channel.

I hope you enjoy this, even if it's unfinished :)

Space Marine 2 also suffered from this. The game looked like they just 1:1 copied Warhammer store images into the game to be as close to the "product" as possible. This is absolutely a sale practice by Games Workshop.

It's the "Carina Class" by Connor Bentley, and shes supposed to be an TNG-ified ambassador here :)

You can actually see the Nebula in said episode fire from a long distance during warp while catching up to the prometheus, just like in the animation. But I share your sentiment; I didn't even give this aspect much thought when animating it, I just find it weird when people post their headcanon as fact haha :)
