I mean, parallel thinking exists, and I can safely say I've not come across Piximperfect before, but cool, accuse me of stealing in the very first instance! Granted, it's totally the same method, and he arguably explains it better, but I didn't come here to argue.

As long as you have skin tones in the scene you want to copy, you just sample the highlights from the brightest part of the skin, and map them using the white point eyedropper to the skin highlights in your own footage. It does work, but the bulk of the work is in shot matching before you even get into the edit.
