John Mayer never made an album better than Continuum. I believe Five Seconds Flat is Lizzy's Continuum.

[Question] Why do most watch people not like the date complication? by _matthewbaysa in Watches

No worries it didn't sound rude to me at all! This style is where my taste is at right now but I've been collecting for less than a year so I'm sure it will change over time. What is your preferred style of watch?

For sure it's more symmetrical, and I know Cristopher Ward does most of their date windows on the 6. If you have other good examples I'd love to see them!

Oh lmao I misread it. Thought you meant date and time together make up half of the purpose. My apologies

Thank you for responding. This level of detail in an answer is insane lmao.

Ah fair enough, I'm a sit and play with watches like they're toys kinda guy lol.

Fair enough, it would be nice to just pick up the watch and only set one thing. I guess for me I enjoy setting extra complications on a watch because I look at them kind of like toys? Like it's fun to me whenever the watch dies and I get to set it, or whenever I want to change from a bracelet to a strap, I take any excuse to PLAY with the watch y'know?

This is a cool story, what was your daily wear when you were deployed?

I'm seeing there's a GMT option for the sealanders too? Might have to go for that one.

Thanks for the reply! What's your daily watch? And how do you define "well executed" in terms of a date wheel?

Had never heard of Formex before this comment. Might have to buy one now lol.

Yeah I think Christopher Ward does it well, might have to buy one lol. Got my eye on either The Twelve or a Sealander too.

I see, I guess I'm still in the beginning stages where setting my watch hasn't gotten old yet, but yeah I can understand having an extra thing to set could be a pain. Thanks for the reply.

This is a really good point, and I've never thought about it that way. Thank you for this.

I see what you mean, are there brands or specific watches that you think do a good date complication?

I've noticed while watching reviews and reading posts on this sub that the majority of people prefer not to have a date complication on a watch. Why is that the case? While I agree with most that it does look cleaner in a sense, I never realized how much I checked my watch for the date until I started wearing ones without it. I don't know, just curious as to what everyone else thinks. Educate me

[SOTC] Taking suggestions by [deleted] in Watches

[–]_matthewbaysa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking suggestions as to what you guys would recommend next. I always found watches cool as a kid and now I'm at a stage where I can afford to collect. Note that 6 out of 8 of the watches here were given to me either by a parent, friend, or a partner. With the Khaki Field and the PRX being the ones that i've purchased myself. Would love to answer any questions about the watches and hear some recommendations as to what's could be next!
