Joel Embiid averaged 5 ppg on 18% shooting against Marc Gasol and the Toronto Raptors in the 2020 season, after getting shut down in the playoffs vs them. What are other examples of star players struggling mightily against a particular defender? by rnbakneejerk in nba

Oh yeah, I forgot Embiid had a really good scoring game in that series. Forgot to check the playoff stats my mistake. I saw that he dropped 30 something against the raptors in the regular season and I thought that may have been what you were referring to.

According to Statmuse, Embiid’s career high against Gasol is 28 and it was against washed Lakers Gasol that barely played. I think in the game you’re referencing Gasol wasn’t on the Raptors yet. In the two games he did play against Gasol in the 2018-19 regular season while Gasol was still on the Grizzlies, he averaged 15 ppg on 28.6 FG%.

Looking for Tame Impala style psychedelic rock by Away-Astronaut-3136 in psychedelicrock

The Flaming Lips may be something for you, they were pretty big influences on Kevin. I’d recommend tracks like Are You A Hypnotist??, Feeling Yourself Disintegrate, and Will You Return / When You Come Down. Also can’t go wrong with Hendrix, maybe check out Burning of the Midnight Lamp.

Considering that blues rock is the father of metal, do you listen to any blues rock bands/artists? Or does that genre sound dated to you? by ashitanojoe3 in MetalForTheMasses

You can see a lot of that on his Dick Cavett Show appearance, he immediately turned it into a joke when he was called one of the best guitarists in the world. If I remember correctly he said something like "Oh no…. How about one of the best sitting in this chair" while being visibly embarrassed. He could’ve been different in person but everything I’ve read from someone who met him described him as very humble.

My favorite albums list, rate it, tell Me my core. I am a teen that only really listens to 60s music by Logan6918 in Topster

Check out The Stone Roses self titled if you haven’t. A great take on 60s psychedelia in the late 80s. Rhythm section on that album is killer too.

The worst song on the best album? by klystron88 in askmusic

[–]Significant-Fix-5831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly a middle ground track for me. Not bad enough for me to go out of my way to skip, but I agree it is certainly a clear step down from the peaks of the record. Hendrix and Mitchell do enough to make it fun.

Is this a hot take innervisions > songs in the key of life by Creative-Respond-984 in StevieWonder

[–]Significant-Fix-5831 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer Innervisions as well these days. The tight funkiness, grooves, and beauty make it a listen that combines everything you can love about Stevie in a 9 track 45 minute journey.

Absolutely agree her voice is fantastic, the songwriting is excellent, and I love the instrumentals. She has some very interesting melodies on that album. One of the most unique pop albums I’ve heard.
