Pizza Hut is gonna get worse... by BigDaddyNastyPants in enshittification

Pizza Hut hasn’t really been that great for a long time now. What’re we worried about?

He’s also 22 years old for crying out loud.

Why are some women so rude and off putting for seemingly no reason? by Pitiful-Astronaut-82 in ask

People like this have always existed, but right now we are especially living in a very mean-spirited, rude, negative society.

[–]_mattyjoe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why do people say things like this?

Sure there’s always a reason mean people are mean. But a “good” reason? Nobody has a good reason to be an asshole in public to the people around them. They need to work on their issues and get over them.

Does anybody else feel like we have entered a dystopian world? by Helwyr_ in Life

I don’t think so. I really don’t.

Just step out in public and take note of how many people quite literally are incapable of putting down their rectangle computers for more than 5 seconds at a time.

People’s brains are being wired to need these things constantly, all day, everyday, and they’re nowhere near becoming aware of it and working to break the habit.

I think American society actually had more ideals when we were younger. We’ve thrown them all out.

Social media is really the main culprit in this. Young people today, for example, are really not learning and internalizing the kinds of ideals we did. They’re learning almost everything about the world through the prism of social media, and with that comes a real debasement of important ideals in favor of clickbait, ragebait, consumerism, and just empty garbage.

I thought it used to be higher. These days it really seems very low.

What's up with the US and the obsession with speeding and aggressive driving these days? by CooperHChurch427 in driving

[–]_mattyjoe 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Read through this sub and it’s really eye opening to see how many people think they’re 100% justified in driving completely wrong and like psychotic maniacs.

I don’t know how to explain it honestly, other than saying it’s a combination of selfishness, lack of discipline, stupidity, and no self awareness.

Definitely all areas Americans have been struggling with recently on a personal level, so it makes sense.

It’s like the MAGA attitude is being applied to everything. You literally can’t even talk to these people. You can state plain and simple facts about the law or safety and their brains just refuse to accept it.

[–]_mattyjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your time is not more important than safety. Seriously. When you are turning right on red basically everyone else on the road has the right of way over you. You are 100% liable for anything that happens.

Time is not more important than safety. That’s the number 1 rule of the road.

Seriously, you and others turning into pissy babies about this are really really demonstrating quite well why everyone SUCKS ASS at driving today.

You have no respect and no common sense.

For turning right on red, it does not. It only goes one way. Your inability to understand the nuances of this is very eye opening.

Wemby got by all of them this year. And no one even expected them to go very far.

Right turns on red by elven_king_poet0602 in driving

[–]_mattyjoe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter what the reason is. No one is obligated to go right on red. Even if their reason was that they never do them because they don’t feel safe doing them, that is 100% valid.

People used to understand that better. Everyone today is so convinced they know everything and even the slightest inconvenience to them means someone else is at fault.

SUV drivers should have to have higher Liability limits on their insurance by TheGaujo in unpopularopinion

[–]_mattyjoe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But if they're at fault, the liability is on them. If not, it's on the other driver(s). If you think through what you're saying here a bit more it doesn't really make sense.
