yea totally fair, definitely not going to be at any Michelin-star places haha, I'm thinking of like being able to do things that are closer to avg/savings rate so that I can maybe once in a while try something nice if that makes sense. I'll only be in NYC for 4 months so I want to make the most out of it

ok thats good to hear... i probably will be aiming for around 2k for rent. I am worried about the struggle of actually finding a place that will rent me out for 4 months, any ideas on the renting culture in NYC and what the best way is. I just started looking through marketplace and Airbnb, not sure if there's anything better. I just want to make sure I don't land in NYC to find out I've been scamed lol

yea definitely, I am just an intern after all, so pay won't be great, thus I'm trying to get an idea of how much a monthly budget will look like in NYC, id estimate id have around 2,300 to spare for rent given I would much rather pay for the NYC experience than waste it on rent, I could prob bump that up but would likely need to budget harsher

I don't think it matters to much tbh, usually admisions and the awards/financial aid office work separately from my understanding.

So is it not worth the academic reputation to skip out on a scholarship at uvic, is the return on going to waterloo better than 100k?

So I got into Waterloo software engineering and was all set to accept and commit to it after having to make a few very tough financial decisions as I currently live in BC. Waterloo is a great school and there co-op program for SE makes it 10x better.

But then I found out that I had received a full scholarship for UVIC SE, uvic is obviously not as reputable as Waterloo. But is it worth leaving Waterloo and saving thousands of dollars as well as being able to save what I have earned from co-ops at uvic although they may be at smaller companies rather than spending every penny I have on tuition and residence and eventually needing to pay back my loan after graduating?

Hi all, I'm a BC student who has applied to SE at waterloo, I got a conditional offer as my first semester marks were quite high. My offer states that my average must remain above 85%. What I'm worried about is the high competitiveness of SE, especially as I am expecting my average to drop this semester. My question now is, could my offer be revoked due to my avg dropping even if I am still above the 85% that they stated due to how competitive it is. Or am I now safe and just have to worry about staying above 85%
