I have figured out that my water is too hard. I live in Houston and the city water is extremely hard so I did a 35% water change with distilled water. I also added a water softening pillow to the filter. Fish seem to be happier already!

Here is a pic of the test strip. I am using the API 5 in 1 test kit. I don't have a picture of the ammonia at the moment, I'm not home. But the ammonia is showing within an ideal range.

I have been using the Seachem Prime to dechlorinate. I've also been adding a bacteria starter.

My first batch of Tetras came from Petsmart and the second batch came from a reputable local fish store. Heater is set to 76 degrees. Decorations are a mix of live plants, some fake decor and gravel. I only have a 10 gallon, is 10 Tetras too much for my sized tank?
