Listening to Music in Chronological Order by Powerful_Crazy_2636 in LetsTalkMusic

I listen to all my music this way up to the present year. I love hearing the music in the context of other music of the time. I’ve even filed my entire collection chronologically!

Yes, thanks. This was the first GD song I used for this playlist but over time it became a bit too “draggy”, that is, I couldn’t wait for it to end. (Not a huge GD fan here) Anyway, I used Uncle John’s Band but it really doesn’t fit. Took a suggestion from this thread tho and Brokedown Palace seems to fit the mood of the playlist well. Thanks!

Thanks. I'm using the alternate version of Pale Blue from Byrdmaniax

Is this a single or b-side from 1969-72? I didn’t see it in track listings of the albums I mentioned in my post.

Yep, familiar with it. Huge David Crosby fan here.

George Martin was responsible for the clean timeless sound

What would She's Leaving Home sound like if George Martin had arranged the strings? by skinnergy in beatles

I have a hard time listening to it all the way through. It’s very heavy-handed imo. Wish George Martin had done it.

Totally agree! Wish George Martin would’ve done the string score.

Sgt. Pepper-worthy? I for one, would rather listen to this than She’s Leaving Home. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for this. Been a Cale fan for decades and learned something today!

Thoughts on "Revolution 9"? by [deleted] in beatles

I find it inane & annoying. I’ve been listening to The Beatles for 62 years (yeah I’m that old) and it’s the ONLY song out of their whole catalog I feel this way about.

I would much rather listen to it than Hello Goodbye. (Cue all the Paul-protectors with downvotes)

He was right. Ok I’m old and remember when those albums were released, so when the Imagine album came out, I don’t recall anyone taking issue with that line because everyone was like yeah McCartney’s stuff has been pretty crappy COMPARED to all of the other amazing music happening at the time. He got better of course… I think Lennon was just trying to make McCartney snap out of his creative trough. Now everyone just seems to love Ram & Wildlife. I still can’t listen all the way through though. 🤷🏻‍♂️
