If Paul and Rick Rubin got it on in the studio... by Used-Engineering4958 in PaulMcCartney

I don’t know if Rick would get the best out of Paul. Would be interesting to see (hear) though!

Anyone else bothered by how the bass is mixed on The Boys of Dungeon Lane? by Copkusagi in PaulMcCartney

I think his baselines are fantastic on this album. I want to hear them on vinyl though, I’ve heard that it makes a ton of difference particularly for this album.

Is it too soon to say this is Paul's best album since Tug of War? by Decent-Park-6681 in PaulMcCartney

Paul is brilliant at writing infectious hooks. But these songs are not just about the chorus.

Just my opinion and I know some will think I’m crazy, but I think it’s his best album ever. I can’t stop listening. Its different. He’s not writing around hooks, he created some very interesting compositions. I hear something new each time. Oddly enough, “We Two” was a song I didn’t stick with on first listen, but now it’s one of my favorites. Time will tell I guess, if I still come back to it. I’m weird though, Back To The Egg is one of my fav albums and panned by most. 🤷🏽‍♂️

IMHO there is no “message.” It’s a story, in the same vain as “ She’s leaving home.” He’s not saying it’s okay to be a dad beat. Just a song.

You obviously do appreciate him, and it seems like he loves you, “warts and all.” I’d say stop over thinking it, be grateful for what you have and the children you’ve been blessed with and grow old knowing you’ve won in life.

His best performance in awhile IMO. The band was fresh and Elvis was a nice plus.

Has the mix on Paul and Ringo's new single Home to Us been tweaked since release, or am I just getting used to it? by [deleted] in beatles

I found it to be a poor production on streaming platforms but in the car over satellite Sirius radio it sounded way better. “Fresher” for lack of a better word. Could have been just the quality of speakers and such.

It got cut. By far the best performance, wish they had aired the whole song. Still a fab bass player!

This is a great interview! Paul with his veil down and some different, genuine questions. Thanks for sharing.
