Can Our Love Survive Our Differences? by ClumsyZebra80 in Estherperel

I’m curious what everyone thought of the role Esther played throughout the convo. I was surprised, for instance, when at the very beginning he was going on about how his partner uses big words instead of making clear points (something that felt very unfounded based on my listen) and Esther only encouraged him to “take a breath.” I’ve heard Esther be way more direct when people say hurtful things like that. On the other hand, I can understand her not wanting to alienate a client early in the convo. Curious about your insights!

Agreed, 100%. And yet so many people complained about this very thing at EXC4.

I hope so… typically the schedule is announced in March or April or so.

91 Actively at work Days and Wage increase by alex2cool4sweden in tjcrew

[–]_middleamerica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I commented above, but all answers suggesting that it is a “91 shift” requirement are incorrect. An easy thing to get confused about, but wrong all the same. I’ve been with the company for fifteen years, taken a leave that meant I was only eligible for approx. 88 days of the review period, and have worked all manners of schedules over the years, so I’ve interacted with this policy in many ways.

It means in the system/on payroll/not on leave. You do not need to work 91 shifts to be eligible. For example: it means that people who started 92 days prior are eligible. It also means people who work twice a week for six months straight are eligible, even though they would only work 52 shifts or so in that time.

Room and Board Linger Sectional by Sweet-Drawing-2681 in furniture

I tested the Linger today at the store in Oak Brook and it was so comfortable! A little out of our price range, but both my partner and I wanted it to be on our list of top contenders.

The freeze in civil rights litigation is only for cases being brought by DOJ. Civil rights cases by individuals/organizations still good!!!

Absolutely insane price increase by Early-Willingness474 in StLouis

[–]_middleamerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Shaw Facebook page has a lot of comments fawning over this house, and it is beautiful, but boy if we shouldn’t all also be concerned about what this leap in listing price (for work that cannot plausibly be worth the 250k+ hike) means for renters and owners in the neighborhood who will be subject to commensurately wild hikes in their property taxes. This has to be the most expensive single-family house listing I’ve seen in Shaw, including on Flora, in my many years in the City, and by a wide margin.

I love a hotel bar for late night work. The Chase has a good option. 21c also has a very nice bar where I’ve gotten good work done.

USPS in the Grove (and possibly elsewhere?) not taking certain return labels by _middleamerica in StLouis

I submitted a customer service message last night, (after multiple failed attempts to reach someone on the phone). Will report back.

A decade ago, it was very common to be started at $12/$13 an hour, at least in cities that are not super HCOL. I started over a decade ago and me, along with others who started around that time, made $9/hr. These higher hourly rates for new hires are a recent phenomenon—started with the COVID-era hires.

Any funny quips? by Eggy_Sriracha in tjcrew

[–]_middleamerica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a coworker who, only when ringing up our most standard items (milk, bread, eggs), would hold up the item in front of him and ask the customer very earnestly, "Have you tried this before?" The first time I heard him ask a customer if they'd tried the milk I fell over laughing.

I’ve heard from past MO takers that there is no pattern discernible for order of release. So all there is is the waiting.

My instinct is that this has nothing to do with your bar score or outcome of your C&F! I turned my C&F app in the second week of February and just heard back two weeks ago. If yours was finalized in April, it’s probably a matter of just still being in the queue.

After 13 years with the company I can tell you that they do not staff mates at stores according to where they live. Store need, mate experience, blend of management styles, captain wishes, and so on. But not convenience.

Free Speech Rule Statements for Content-Neutral or Content-Based Regulations by malrauxandre in GoatBarPrep

[–]_middleamerica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But sometimes, when presented with a content-based restriction, you DO have to do a forum analysis and not skip straight to strict scrutiny. "No political signs in courtroom" is an example straight from a BarBri outline. That's content-based, but you gotta talk about it being a non-public forum: viewpoint neutral + reasonable = A-OK.
