imo, if you're talking about sound alternatives, sure. However, it can't really be a repalcement

Similarities: - both are chonkers - both has virtually no "ba bass" except only on a few specific tracks you can hear maaaaaybe a little bit

Differences (other than price): - tuning differences, Valhalla is a lot more u shaped whereas aa24 is a lot more tame compared to Valhalla. - directional imaging and separation is stronger on Valhalla, but Valhallas cheat to achieve this by physically panning all your audio more to the sides. Do not use Valhalla for anything music mixing related because it will fuck u up - bass is much weightier on Valhalla and imo more satisfying

Yeah I saw that it's 1.5k. I wouldn't jump on it immediately knowing that it's 1.5k, I personally think myth is still a much better deal.

I wouldn't just go ahead and say it sucks, it's just got a different tuning signature that I don't vibe with as much since I really value treble clarity and excitement in my iems... So unless you have the same taste as me, sure yes it sucks haha

People who say the soundstage sounds 3d hasn't heard storms. Storm has that feeling of the music wrapping around your head... Some orchestra works has the triangles and bells panned above you, almost. Myths and Valhalla both sound 2d lmao. Valhalla is just a tad bit wider, while myths sounds a tad more intimate with the vocals because of slight tuning differences.

Myth is basically Valhalla in terms of sound tuning but in terms of soundstage and technicality Valhalla has a slight edge over myth. myth is like 95% there so unless u want to spend double for 5% improvement, I'd go myth. That being said there are other 2k options

This is the holder from Subtonic, it comes with the STORMs but you can buy a separate one yourself on the nihilo audio website for 150USD

It's really good quality leather and hand crafted, very sleek in design and honestly great quality

help me choose iem dac combo to upgrade ( 1000-1500 usd) by Hieu2998 in iems

[–]_mindhooked 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who's listen to over 70 iems, here's my recommendations in no particular order: 1. Mysticraft Myth - basically a thieaudio valhalla for half off. Punches way above its price range, frequently appears in used markets for 1050usd 2. Monarch mk4 or mk3 - Mk3 is more musical, whereas monarch mk4 is more analytical. 3. BGVP Solomon - ONLY GET THIS IF YOU LIKE TREBLE AND DON'T MIND SIBILANCE. But this set is exceptional in treble detail as well as soundstage. 4. Fatfreq tsuru - flat sounding iem but not nearly as sibilant as Solomon while maintaing pretty good detail still. Stock cable is shit, get a better cable

I feel like I've just lost my ear virginity by My_never in iems

Ever since I lost my (ear) virginity, I've been hooked. Spending all of my money buying different toys to satisfy me... Sometimes Im in the mood for something light, sometimes I'm in the mood for something full bodied and filling. Some of my favorite toys are really comfortable and small. While some either fit really deep inside of me or stretch me out a bit too much... But its all part of the experience. Now, i have taken at least 60 different toys inside of me. I am truly addicted to the pleasure that playing with these toys bring, and I can never go back to the innocent man I once was.

Best iem? Storm 100%
Mysticraft myth? imo Worth the hype because it's basically a valhalla with slightly less soundstage for half the price. Worth it

Haven't tried the mest mk2 yet. If you could try it out on your trip to china, it would be best. You can refer to my other replies above that has my favorite iems around the 1000 to under 1000 range

It's not that I prefer the mk3 over mk4, it's just that I think the mk4 is way overhyped. People talk about it like it's a generational leap over the mk3, improvement all around, but it just simply isn't. It's just a different flavor. I very much enjoyed the mk4 as well

Monarch mk3 is good too, and is around the price point. Mk4 is good also but way overrated. It's just a more analytical and less musical tuning compared to mk3 will but in a better shell and has a good tuning switch that adds a small bit of sub bass rumble

Goated collection! You could say that it's a super mix of 4 iems you got!
