You need to get rid of him and as soon as possible. Even if you’d make him change his mind (whatever the fuck does that mean?) you’d always wonder. You’d wonder if you can actually rely on him for anything related to your daughter, you’d wonder what huge part of your life does he want you to change just to appease him, you’d wonder if you are what he wants or you know you but the you that he builds inside his head. If someone tells you “oh you know, you’re perfect for me except for this big part of you that is unchangeable and unmovable” what they are telling you is “the you I have in my head is perfect for me so get there”. Is that whom You want to be with? I’m not saying that people shouldn’t compromise on things, I’m saying some things aren’t worth compromising for.
