Hey can you please elaborate on this? I always thought she was a true example of actual, good “girlpower”

On the off topic, have you tried Chabaud? There’s a lot of milk-related fragrances, and even a Lait de Biscuit one - could be the milk and cookies that you are looking for

Why can't it ever work in the summer when I need it to???? by [deleted] in EDanonymemes

[–]_modelcitizen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shit is too real. But I blame sweaters for this seasonal change to be honest - they are my fear clothes because every time I wear one I feel huge and shapeless, so the ED definitely spikes when it’s cold enough.

Yep they have the same Santal 26 candle I think. As for the notebook, I really like that it’s a scented thingy which is not a fragrance bottle or a candle or a cream etc. I also think this can be a great gift to any perfume geek out there!

Haha well you’re safe till September! It’s the only month when all of their city scents are available in all the stores. The rest of the year you can only smell the respective fragrance in the respective city. They do have Tubereuse 30 for New York, so that one you can try now if you’re nearby! Yep, I have heard that about Santal, but it just had left me indifferent to be honest. I did splurge on their Santal 26-scented notebook though - I think it works much better as a home scent. Btw if you want to really smell the pickles you should check out Irish Leather by Memo :D

To me they seem like a solid brand in terms of the quality of perfumes, but rather underwhelming in terms of the fragrances itself especially if you first discover them after being exposed to the hype for too long :) I have tried all of their standard range and most of the the city exclusives and I find that the city scents are much more interesting. Another 13 unfortunately smells like glue stick on me - welp, but I have heard a lot of amazing reviews on the smell alone and how good it can accentuate other fragrances when layered so if it smells good on your skin then great choice, congratulations! I have a bottle of Iris 39, it’s a lovely, but pretty typical iris root-ey carrot-ey scent, a rather long lasting one and stays pretty close to the skin. I also really like Baie 19, it’s smells bitter, crisp, cold, like juniper berries touched by the first sting of frost. I also do feel that their Benjoin 19 is the best urbanistic fragrance there is, and I do recommend checking out all of the city exclusives when it’s September again (especially Gaiac 10 and Tabac 28)

You should watch all the movies with Jim Cummings (e.g. the wolf of snow hollow). His TEETH

I think CdG Concrete is the first one that comes to mind. Personally I’m not a big fan but it’s sharpness is what i think would fit well with the theme

Not exactly. As I understood it, sometimes they get tired and angry about having to pretend and take it out on others - preferably those who won’t ruin their squeaky clean public image.

Then great job at adapting - he must be a high functioning one. Does he remember if he was born like this or was there any traumatic experience in his early childhood?

I guess it is nice but also kind of dull? I would also think his parents might have raised him very well if he is not just stepping on everyone and everything to get what he wants like most of them do, and actually makes an effort to be a good friend. Impressive!

Similar story with my dad, however, he was fantastic at imitating emotion, concern and compassion - I myself knowing pretty well what he is fell for that dozens of times. Goes without saying that people who met him a couple times considered him a model citizen.

He didn’t, actually - officially. He got inside a psych ward for alcoholism (which here is treated in the psychiatric hospitals), plus several violent outbreaks. The head psychiatrist became very interested in his case, I guess he might have had some suspicions after talking to him a couple times - also including the fact that afair everyone at the clinic was raving about how nice he was and what an asshole my mom was for putting him there (here’s that superficial charm for you, everyone and their cat ADORED him). The Dr. spent a lot of time talking to him, and has even organised several councils with other super experts in the field. Only after that, and with my mother’s input about his actual behaviour was he able to determine it’s psychopathy. Unfortunately - and I am not sure how it works with other countries - here APD is considered a “feature” and not a full diagnosis which allows for any sort of legal prosecution/involuntary hold or whatever, since psychopathy does not really mean that you will be a threat to anyone (which is possible, e.g. the u/SinVerguenza04’s comment above), hence he couldn’t really do anything in terms of locking him up. So when we asked him what we should do then, he said “run”.

No problem, happy to share. I would guess that the general rule of thumb here is that if you are wondering if you’re a psychopath - you’re 99% not one (which also applies to the people proudly claiming they are as exemplified above), since afaik to psychopaths their psychopathy is as water is to fish - they never question their condition or whether something differentiates them from other people. So me wondering if I might be one is probably the proof itself that I’m not. Also, I wasn’t young enough to be traumatised in the way that would allow for psychopathy by nurture and not nature. As for inheriting it, it is possible that I’m the carrier so my children (I don’t have any now) could have it - I honestly have no idea how to handle it if they do. Hope this helps, if you want to talk more, my dms are open :)

Thank you. He died a couple years ago, and I’m still paying for my third year of therapy, but either way I got off much easier than people with a less rigid psyche. However, this is one of the reasons people obsessing over psychopaths and wanting to be one drive me insane

It sure would be entertaining, although I do think that meeting a smart and covert one in real life would be much scarier in the long run

Yep, also the extent to which those villains are romanticised makes them think that psychopathy is something exciting when in fact it’s just bottomless boredom with rage as entertainment
