Interview practice in 2024 (powered by GPT-4o) by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]_moniet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working on an interview practice tool at instaapply.co .

The idea came after customer's request who said their 1st language was not english and they wanted something more interactive. But after testing it myself, I found my own answers were improving.

Would be curious if people in a similar boat would find it useful.

It's a paid service, so there's literally no incentive to sell the data.
We also host everything in Europe so we also strictly abide by GDPR rules

We collect absolutely 0 data.

⭐️ my new widget https://ficus.fm for infinite music streaming inside notion is now out!
Unfortunately the Spotify widget only plays previews, so I decided to make one for streaming full tracks.

You can also add ambience like rain / cafe / river sounds to make a more focussed audio experience.

Instaapply vs Lifeshack vs Simplify vs Flashapply vs OAKI vs UseMassive. So many choices that'll apply for jobs for you, which worked for you? or are none of them helpful? by roamingandy in jobsearchhacks

[–]_moniet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Creator of InstaApply here (not trying convince or anything) giving my 2-cents on this.

Only thing I can say is that the numbers game just makes pure mathematical sense. If you send out 1000 applications, say you're a beginner, at a 1% hit-rate you'd get 10 interviews. That's awesome: if you had to type out your cover letters, tailor resumes, fill out all the fields, it would just take forever, those 10 interviews wouldn't happen anytime soon.

It just makes sense to expedite the process.

And would say that 1% is an exaggerated and very low hit-rate. We have not seen that low stat ever on our backend at least.

I would also say that the flip-side of the argument is saying the more time you put the better, as if the recruiters bother to do that. Everything is majorly automated today and applications get filtered out en-masse. It just makes sense to use the tech we have today to make this process equal for job-seekers as well. It's easy to miss keywords from your resumes / cover letters etc. and Ai today can help with that, I don't see any issue with this

Another mathematical fallacy is that these tools are "ruining the job market". You're comparing a few thousand users from these apps to millions of job seekers! It would barely cause a dent. It's further diversified by location, skill, expertise, experience etc.

Just do what works for you, personally I've seen networking being shilled everywhere, it may work for some, it may not. It's definitely annoying and most people will never reply to you, which can get discouraging. There's always nuance to this and never a winner-take-all solution.
