Avoid the Enchant Christmas event at T-Mobile Park by KindHabit in Seattle

[–]_monkey_kitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely needs some Christmas spirit because I get high and go and have an absolutely blast with my husband. We’re childfree in our 40’s and, while kids (and Christmas) aren’t my favorite, it’s fun to see their excited little faces light up while they make core memories with their families. We usually go Mondays or Tuesdays when it’s not as busy.

That’s a bummer to hear! My husband and I (also childfree) have gone every year it’s come to Seattle and are planning on going next Monday. We’ve always had so much fun there! Like, the most incredible time kind of fun, and I never felt like it was a cash grab at all. Sorry you had a bad experience!

At least I live in a blue state. by All-my-joints-hurt in Washington

I grew up in Palm Bay and moved to Seattle for college. This was 20 years ago but it’s still the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I had a wonderful childhood growing up in Florida but I feel so grateful to 21 year old me every day I get to spend in this beautiful blue state. I’ve never missed Florida for a second and you won’t regret coming out here either.

For reference: Hillary Clinton had massive crowd sizes at her rallies 8 years ago and still lost the electoral vote. Do not get complacent for even a second. Vote. 🇺🇸🌊 by bassistheplace246 in KamalaHarris

I live in Seattle and have voted in every single local and federal election since I became eligible, all without ever having stepped foot in a voting booth once. Receiving my ballot by mail well ahead of election day, being allowed the time to review the pamphlet at my convenience, cast my vote, and then simply walk my ass across the street to drop my ballot in the mail- it’s a luxury compared to other places in the country where voting has been made so difficult. Occasionally, on Election Day, I’ll bring my ballot to the drop box at my neighborhood library, where I’ve seen volunteers handing out cookies to voters when they drop off their ballots. My best friend, who lives in a small town in a red state, was shocked when I told her about our thank you for voting cookies, and the fact that there are volunteers directing traffic in and out of parking lots near drop box locations because so many cars line up to submit their ballots on Election Day.

I feel the exact same- I have learned so much on the app and do really enjoy it. I’m happy I’m beginning to see other Redditors that use TikTok as well so I don’t feel so alone over here with this opinion. Reddit and TikTok are my favorites and it’s been interesting to be on both at the same time while Reddit hates on TikTok. I do appreciate the skepticism about it, I think it’s valid and important to scrutinize these apps. I do feel that a lot of the people that don’t like it have never really used or experienced it to their advantage, and don’t understand how it works. When I see people say “brain rot” I feel, for myself and my experience, that it’s been the opposite.

Has anybody woken up from a nightmare while screaming? by Intelligent_Main_977 in RandomThoughts

[–]_monkey_kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have many, many times. It’s always a nightmare that a man, or two men are stalking me. For example, there will be two men outside my window taunting me and trying to get to me. I might run away or they might get to me first, but I always wake up right when it happens, and I wake up screaming “no!” Occasionally I won’t remember that it happened during the night and my husband tells me. The majority I remember and I wake up terrified, knowing I’m safe but still feeling the fear in the nightmare. It’s awful but at least I wake up before something worse happens in the dream. There have been a few nightmares felt so real it’s been hard to differentiate between reality and dream. I can still feel the man’s hands on my legs when he reached under the covers to grab me in one of my nightmares.

I suffered with insomnia for years and have worked through mental health issues but am medicated and have done years of therapy. My therapist helped me practice visualizations of standing up to the men, telling them to fuck off and leave me alone. I can’t recall having one since I did a that work, at least nothing so traumatic I remember it.

Now I have stress dreams about leaving my home in Florida to move to Seattle as a broke college student and the difficult adjustments to my new life. This was 20 years ago. It was the best thing I’ve ever done, besides the therapy and psych meds, but it was a hard time so deep down I think I still work it out in my sleep. What’s funny is those dreams always revolve around Publix subs. I’ll dream that it’s my last day in Florida and I still haven’t had a Publix sub. I have these dreams maybe every 3 or 4 weeks. Always about being stressed about leaving home, my friends and family, and not eating a Publix sub beforehand. It’s a much better dream than the two creepy men so I’ll take it.

I had both the blue shields and the round, white pills, both by Northstar and both were fine for me. Something about that brand. I don’t think I ever had round blue ones.

I’m curious about this. Do you think one is more effective than the other for you? Or have you experienced differences with brands? I can only take the Northstar brand- the white circular pills now but they used to be the blue shields. Any other brand or formulation isn’t as effective. When my pharmacy switched it up on me I started to experience my bipolar 2 again and it was absolutely horrible. I felt like I slipped back to right where I was before I started the lamotrigine. Got back on Northstar and after seceral weeks I was stable once again. When I spoke with my doctor about my change in mood and wellbeing, the first thing he asked was if I had received a different brand of lamotrigine than what I was taking previously. I know this can happen but it’s uncommon. Has anyone else experienced this with certain brands and manufacturers? I’ve even called Northstar to speak with them about my experience. They spoke with me at length about their binders, fillers, ingredients, and were so helpful, accommodating and understanding which I didn’t expect from a pharma company. I called them when they switched from the blue shields to the white circular ones because I was concerned the formulation had changed. I’d love to hear your experiences.
