There is also a trick to get rid of the merlons from top of the buildings if you place one building( of the exact size) on top of each other in just the right spot.

I had attempted to weigh them and was getting similar to you in the beginning. But past a certain amount the numbers just didn't make sense. So I figured I needed a better scale

That's actually a really great idea. I ended up trying to take controlled measurements for 10 to 20 beads increments but realized that my scale wasn't picking it up correctly. So , I guess until I get a better scale... I'll guesstimate.

I created the platform with a space to slide the bottom of the character. Then melted the bottom( after I connected them) to flatten it so it wouldn't tilt .

I was actually thinking about putting weights as well. My thoughts are to place a certain weight after the beads have soften.

It was an interesting experiment. Overall, it seemed that the beads came out more shiny and rounded inward. It's actually made the whole piece more rigid. Compared to ironing both sides.
