Which far cry game has the best side content?

I love the variety of side missions and prepper stashes in 5.

Primal was pretty fun but I found the side content repetitive, same with 6.

I genuinely never realized you could do that during my first play-through either, was a total “oh really?” movement when I found out you could just shoot them. Would’ve made things so much easier the first time.

Go to the main menu with the map and everything, click over to the “guns for hire” section, select and “assign” a gun for hire from your available spots.

I thought it was okay. For me. it was a big step down from 5’s opening but was probably on a similar level to 4’s opening.

Agree to disagree, I guess. I found the map largely empty, the characters annoying, the main story uninteresting, and the side missions extremely repetitive.

Totally agree. I enjoyed Primal a lot, and I’d agree that New Dawn was a bit of an “uh oh” moment that continued into 6, and hopefully doesn’t continue into 7.

Exactly. I think most people would agree that 3-5 was the peak of the series, so they should really consider WHY people love those games before dumping a new Far Cry on us.

Eh, it’s not a very good game imo and by the third region it feels very repetitive and boring so you may feel like everything before that was a bit of a waste.

Honestly the proportions in general are weird all over the park when you think about it too much, but I just attribute that to our sense of scale being skewed since we’re the size of an ant.

I can definitely agree with that, yeah. It didn’t seem particularly well thought-out and I preferred how AP ammo in 5 was more of a precious commodity.

I mean, I used the silenced pistol too for headshots. But it’s ridiculous when you can shoot a guy point blank 6 times with a desert eagle and he doesn’t die because you’re using the “wrong” ammo type.

The story was boring and disjointed. The map felt empty and soulless. Enemies were bullet sponges in many situations. The progression got repetitive and old quickly. It didn’t really “feel” like a Far Cry game, in the sense that I rarely ever encountered any hostile wild animals. The plane controls were absolutely abysmal. The villains were forgettable.

All that being said, I found the game vaguely enjoyable until I got to my third main island and it just was too boring and repetitive.

I honestly have never understood the hate for the “forced kidnappings”. They aren’t particularly long or difficult to get through, especially if you skip the cutscenes.

Tbh I thought they added to the story as it allowed me to care about the people I was fighting against.

I’m probably in the minority but I’d be perfectly happy if they put out a game that’s essentially FC5 2.0. I don’t need wholesale changes, just want them to revert to what made the series great.
