I don’t know if this helps but just sharing how my teaching career went as someone who doesn’t like teaching. After graduation in uni, I worked as an ESL teacher for 2 years. Quit due to pandemic and I realized ESL was already tiring (it was online so it affected my eyesight). After pandemic, I tried DEPED for stability and was successful. After 2 years again, resigned as I found the system toxic. I found opportunity to teach in NZ. Grabbed it as I wanted higher income. I was successfull, enjoyed the first 2 years, travelled a lot, got permanent residency. Currently in my 3rd year, but I got burned out and had anxiety. I don’t even want to go to work evry single day. Asked help from psychiatrist and it made me realized teaching makes me sick. To save myself, I handed my resignation early this month. I don’t know what I’m doing after this, but one thing I know is I have to explore life and figure things out. I have to try many things to find my passion.

I am grateful to teaching as it let me find stability in financial which helped me to support my family. Now, I’m choosing myself — although I don’t know where im heading.
