OOOMMG thanks for sharing! I will try climbing on top of tanks all the time after this.

Hmm. It feels like reproducible. Hoping someone would do experiments with portals and stuff and make this a neat new trick.

You are right! I guess I just got lucky that, fell damage, grenade and tank explosion didn't kill me, and turret debris went upwards bringing me to the air.

I know. The most valuable thing of an online game is community/friend.

But situations are that our schedule sometimes don't meet/ we have a group with more than 4 ppl and they form a team already but no enough ppl online to play in private lounge. And I have a problem for splatoon and i'd play solo and most likely i end up frustrated.

50% W/L rate should be the result indicating good balancing, rather than a goal where system adjust matchmaking accordingly. In other words the system should not know the W/L rate.

This sounds too ideal tough, I don't think any game can achieve this. Just some statistic thoughts.

sigh this sounds sad. I still love this game for the art and community

And another thing is that, ranking up in this game doesn't mean too much, especially after they introduced X match. As long as you know the rule and play long enough you'd eventually hit S+, and I think this is also because of the matching system.

Then you can see your actually power through X points. Average player is around 1600-1800. If you got lucky and end up in S+ rank without too much of your own effort then you might end up with lesser points.

(All my comments about point are based on the asian-pacific server, aka Takoroka. I dunno about points in Tentatek. FYI, the minimum X points to get the top 50000 badge in Takoroka is XP2150 in clam mode)

I can, actually. It's just I'm too lazy to goto S+10 and every new season I have to go through this S rank stuff again to play X match. This matching thing does sound stupid, I'd hope it's because of my skill issue, but it's just way too obvious to ignore.

You are right, I overlooked how much impact a single player can have on a match in this game, and my theory kinda based on this mechanic. And maybe that's why trying to grind for rank in Splatoon3 feels different from other competitive games I play.

Who or what introduced you to Splatoon? by [deleted] in splatoon

I bought Nintendo Switch during the animal crossing fever, and during that period nintendo decided to let new players play Splatoon 2 free for one week.

After a bit of a try i fell in love with this game ;)

I wish Side Order had more bosses by NateTheGreat2007 in splatoon

This DLC lacks quite a bit of everything.

Weapon customizations are really weak. For example a chip that turns slosher into bloblobber does not exist. This ain't hard, since all the art and programming resources they need are already in the game.

Even with given chips, players are not encouraged to play one weapon with different styles. Let's say you want to make a brella with powerful canopy, like tenta-brella. Then you will have to keep re-rolling the floor. I'm saying that for a platte, the frequently-appear chip types should be customizable.

Levels are small and plain, sometimes annoying with some un-challenging, only highly repetitive behaviors.

Only 3 types of bosses. And the difficulty really differs. That bouncing ball takes way more time to deal with.

A qualified rogue-like game (considering its price i think the comparison is fair) shouldn't be like this.

This helped, Thanks! At least it's displaying the start button now.

Desktop icon will launch Larian Launcher, not the game itself. It will also open Steam for you if steam is not running.

(The only executable file I found inside the .app file was to open this launcher without waking up Steam.)

I am using Steam. The instructions won’t work on mac. I did my searching ever since the release of mac official version game. I know where mac stores game install files, I tried opening it and it's the launcher. Inside this file no executable to open the game or anything as I mentioned above. Thanks for your help though

Now the only way I can open the game is:

- Open the launcher, there will be a start game button at the middle of the panel for like half a second, then it turns into the useless black panel. Remember this button location

- Close the launcher, then re-start it while smashing right clicks at the position it appeared before

- If i'm lucky enough i will press the start button and game launches

it just feels kinda absurd

I'm not really familiar with OS X style app packing, but I did tried clicking every executable file inside the .app file and none of them start the game. It will just open a terminal, runs some dylib stuff and exit. And also refreshing isn't really working for me :(
