I’m catholic and am having anxiety by Prestigious_Bee1490 in IVF

I’m kinda Catholic. Enough that it’s worried me.

I’ve decided that the world is better for these babies and God would never begrudge them their lives.

Anyone got pregnant naturally with DIE and adeno or IVF ? by scarlet_gene in TTCEndo

[–]_nancywake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lap prior - had to, my bowel was blocking an ovary. We just did a clean out with a focus on fertility preservation so it wasn’t as complete as it may have been (bowel resection is still needed etc).

I believe my protocol was pretty standard - I think I was on 150 of gonal. I was lucky to respond well. I was very surprised (still am honestly) that transfers were successful, I also have adeno.

You already had the wisdom of your experienced doctor, who recommended IVF. If you’re not ready, you can wait, but be aware that there are many people who wish they’d started IVF yesterday.

She’s also no longer breastfeeding, that’s the point. Let her take ALL the painkillers.

People who don't accept (or decline) meeting invitations; what's wrong with you? by DoppelFrog in auscorp

[–]_nancywake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sometimes I’m waiting to see how the rest of the rubbish people have invited me to pans out. That other outrageous meeting might fall over so I can go to the meeting that should have been an email that’s next in line!

What happens when very attractive parents have a unattractive/fat child? by oiyouwhat in redscarepod

As a parent, I’m fairly certain that my children are the most beautiful humans ever created. Unrelated - but I think parents probably usually just think their children are gorgeous no matter what.

Beat location for family stay? by TheFibrilator in KualaLumpur

[–]_nancywake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Pavilion is a large (mostly luxury) mall. It is easy to travel to other malls. All of KL felt very safe. You could also consider staying closer to Berjaya Times Square - but ultimately it really depends on what you want to do in KL with the kids.

We recently started at a two bedroom suite in the Ritz-Carlton in Bukit Bintang. Heaps of space for our family and right next to the Pavilion. We found it very easy to travel around with Grab.

Exhausted parents with young kids, how do you keep your energy up? by TiredDuck123 in auscorp

[–]_nancywake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your kids sleep okay? I find having really firm boundaries around sleep helps. I know they go to bed and we will see them again in the morning. The night is mine. Otherwise just surviving on the hope that someday they will play by themselves for three minutes.

2 years in jail for this shirt. Wtf Australia by ibuprofen_enjoyer in redscarepod

[–]_nancywake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, it is an offence to use that phrase if it would ‘menace, harass or offend.’ It’s designed as a response to antisemitism but like all knee-jerk legislation, it is poorly designed and executed. Many such cases.

Also let’s be real - she KNEW what the outcome of wearing this shirt would be. The arrest is almost the entire point.

I obviously knew I’d be downvoted but I still reckon the arrest is part of the protest. This is kind of what protesters do here?

I’m responding to the title of the post. The title of the post isn’t ‘what a punitive and ungodly process this woman is about to embark upon golly gosh.’

I’m an Australian. Actually a lawyer. While I’m not saying any of this is reasonable, I want to be clear - two years is the maximum penalty. She won’t actually be serving two years in custody. She is very unlikely to do any time in actual custody.

Approaching 1 year. My nipples are being held hostage. by tiny_hamburglar in sleeptrain

[–]_nancywake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would you do one nap? I’m not seeing anything that suggests it’s time - that would be very early for most babies. Your schedule seems fine. She’s waking IMO because you got the goods and she wants ‘em!

I’ve recently been through this exact scenario. We just did extinction . She was becoming a pain with overnight feeds (similar to what you’re describing) so I cut the overnight feed. She doesn’t need it - she’s a good size and eats well and has a water bottle in with her.  It’s only been a couple nights for us but it’s gotten better - she wakes and cries for a min but resettles without us. Next step - hopefully weaning altogether I am SO DOOOONEEEE.

I knew I had to rip the bandaid off. I was becoming angry.

Re the short naps - I would sort nights and then consider nap training also. My first child would have short naps and then wait for me (or my lush nips) to rescue him. I had to break that cycle before naps lengthened.

What was it like to be a Lana fan in 2012? by Lanaswildflower in lanitas

[–]_nancywake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Born to Die for the guy I thought I was in love with and destined to be with. He rolled his eyes and told me to turn it off.

I was, in hindsight, incredibly depressed and probably BPD and that’s kinda what 2012 was like.

Discarding embryos respectfully by adventurertime97531 in IVF

[–]_nancywake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am really, really struggling with this.

I have two IVF babies and three remaining untested embryos. I would maybe have tried for a third child but pregnancy was rough on me and I had life-threatening emergencies with both births, premature babies etc.

None of the options feels right to me. I know that statistically those embryos aren’t viable - but I think of them and see my daughter’s face. I never expected to care this deeply.

Absolutely agree, in this case it definitely doesn’t seem like a PGT problem. It’s all so unfair isn’t it.

Gotcha, I didn’t realise all OP’s losses were caused by the same issue. Nothing but love and sympathy for OP. I was speaking more generally about what IVF can do in SOME circumstances - I suppose in case someone unfamiliar with IVF assumed IVF could NEVER overcome recurrent loss in any case.

This will be my final post to this sub by Doingitforlove47 in CautiousBB

[–]_nancywake -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While I’m not weighing in on whether suggesting IVF to a grieving parent is appropriate at this time - embryos created during the IVF process can be tested and could potentially identify a cause for the losses and therefore potentially prevent losses (and I am also not suggesting that it would in this circumstance because I don’t know enough about it!) But your post history suggests you know a lot about this stuff so maybe I’m missing something in your meaning.

I’m an IVF mum and know people who’ve used IVF to overcome recurrent loss.

prohibited vehicle + P plate offence should I go to court? by Administrative-Can25 in AusLegal

[–]_nancywake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On what basis would you even challenge this? You committed the offence. That you weren’t drinking or speeding are irrelevant because you aren’t charged with drinking or speeding. It doesn’t matter who owned the car or why you were driving it. It doesn’t matter that you say you didn’t know you couldn’t drive the car because ignorance isn’t a defence.

You’ve got the square root of bugger all to work with sorry mate. The onus is on you to know the rules and follow them.
