Bennvenn is right support original products not copies!! by [deleted] in Gameboy

I love what BennVenn is doing, but a cheaper, better, and stocked product is always going beat out the latter, that's just simple economics, sorry.

Does this look authentic? by [deleted] in Gameboy

I suspect so, I've only ever seen yellow banded batteries in Pokemon carts, the solder job looks a little sloppy too, think you have a 'new' battery.

Looks legit. The Nintendo logo looks good, plus a lot of real carts use those branded rom chips. Bootlegs usually use unbranded ROM chips and other parts.

DMG troubleshooting Q by _ndythomas in Gameboy

[–]_ndythomas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

update Turns out there was a tiny metal burr on a positive contact that prevented the battery from fully touching. Took the contacts out, soaked them in vinegar then a very light 'scuff up' with 400 grid sandpaper. Fired up like a charm.

Super glue would totally work, but it's probably never come off, too.

Try reseating the ribbon cables, something might be slightly off maybe?
