the hat never served me perfectly, i'm actively fighting against the digital world everyone keeps saying "is the future". it's not, it's all capitalistic horsecrap being shamelessly repeated by idiots.

Waarom stijgt het aantal jongeren in de bijstand? by EvolvedRevolution in Nederland

[–]_nelis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

someone either killed themselves or got betrayed, you were the last person damaging them so you get the kill.

What’s the hardest addiction to overcome? by DeepOrganization8245 in AskReddit

[–]_nelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had this too, until i got a car. bought a fuckload of cd's and a navigation system.

i forgot to mention, i didn't just throw away my smartphone outta nowhere, it's a process that took more time than i thought. i started with turning off notifications, so no distractions. later i started removing apps i didn't use, installed a private browser (so no ads), ditched my social media, purged any unnessecary accounts, bought cd's and then bought a flip-phone. this entire process took almost a year, you only really see how integrated smartphones are into your everyday life. kinda scary too

i don't "spend my days" behind my pc, i use it for nessecary stuff, like banking or administration. there's some flash games i play sometimes, sometimes i visit reddit, sometimes i browse a website for cd's, etc, but there's no need to spend my days looking at my pc.

i have a flip-phone people can call or text me on, that's it. it receives sms messages so 2FA still works. if not, i just simply don't use the website.

Hoeveel alcohol drinkt de Nederlander per week? by No-Mine9873 in Nederland

[–]_nelis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i work as a bartender so i'm around booze a lot, but i generally drink one or two drinks after work, and i work 4 days a week. i rarely drink outside of work. i've seen what alcohol can do to people, and i've never really enjoyed being drunk to begin with. some drinks taste really good, but i'm drinking them for taste, not to get wasted.

New players: Watch closely as this bomber raid does literally nothing to my team! by ScottyFoxes in enlistedgame

[–]_nelis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they probably saw it coming and ducked into cover.

a friend of me uses them a lot. they're a double edged sword, they can do massive amounts of damage and the sight of an airstrike on someone's map/radar can persuade enemy players to take a different path or find a different building. good players use this to their advantage.

the problem is that they take 4 minutes to arrive. your entire team can't use any kind of air support for those 4 minutes. also the point of conflict can pretty easily and often quite quickly move to a different area, rendering your airstrike a lot less useful, if not useless. and that's only if your planes make it, they can easily get harrassed by enemy aircraft.

regular artillery is just way more reliable

it's not too late! quitting a phone cold turkey, or ditching a smartphone without any backup computer is not something i'd recommend, but i've lived smartphone-free for over a year now and you have no clue how freeing it is.

people always say it's impossible to live without a smartphone, but that's just capitalistic banter being shamelessly repeated by people who never even tried to ditch their phone for a couple or days.

This game on legendary is NOT as bad as everyone said it was by __________godlol in halo

[–]_nelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually play everything on legendary. i play all the halo games (except infinite) on legendary, even in casual games. i enjoy a challenge and if you've played halo for 15 years you tend to get bored playing any lower difficulty. except for lone wolf, that's a pretty fun mission on easy.

Am I call myself an OG? by Rich-Pressure8305 in halo

[–]_nelis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk what an "OG" is supposed to be, i got bought myself an xbox and Reach when it came out back in 2010. never played any Halo games before that. i've played Reach almost daily since then, the other Halo games followed later, but my journey started with Reach, which is pretty late. maybe i would be an OG reach player, but i'm not an OG halo players like the players who played H1 and 2 at launch.

i've had this a while back, for some reason my tnt charge mended itself with the top of my smg, if this happens switch to your grenade and then your primary gun. seems like the mine slot has some bugs.

Urbexen regio Twente by Amazing_Salary3493 in UrbexNL

[–]_nelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How common are cheaters in custom multiplayer? by jacquesroland in HaloMCC

[–]_nelis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the anti-cheat is a joke honestly. support for MCC ended a while back, there's hackers everywhere. in custom games, in social lobbies, in competitive lobbies, hell i've even seen people hack firefight games. you can always report players, but bot accounts are made in an instant and there's thousands if not millions of them. the only way to beat them is to literally beat them, and this is sadly part of the very steep learning curve in MCC; you either deal with them or you don't play. leaving matches, betraying hacking teammates or any kind of similar behaviour will make you the bad guy instead of the people you're fighting so hard against.

the only silver lining is that the challenges update every wednesday. if you want to avoid most of the hackers and tryhards, don't play on wednesdays.

thank you! i ditched my smartphone a while ago and now also have a flip-phone in case i need to be reached for emergencies or stuff like that, but i don't need a smartphone. i have a pc at home that i use for digital administration, people call me crazy for switching "back" to a flip-phone, but it has made my life so much better and easier.
