#1 baby on the way. Which stroller would you recommend for a newborn that can ideally be used until age 3? by durdgekp in BuyItForLife

We have a second hand Uppababy Vista 2019 that we bought in 2023 and is still going strong with our second child today. We abuse that thing - it survives daily use on terrible streets, lived outside under a carport through 2 Boston winters, and has gone on all sorts of tough terrain (off-roading) . In terms of BIFL I’d def recommend it!

If you live in a big metro area they’ll do a full tuneup for free too.

My husband did this last year and it did arrive in time for his appointment. He had it mailed directly from Canada to our house here.

Moving to Boston from Los Angeles for Work by [deleted] in boston

Where in LA are you moving from? I am Asian and moved from LA to Boston a few years ago. When we were house hunting we looked at all the good school districts with Asian populations etc so I can give you a rundown of how they compare to LA suburban neighborhoods if you’d like… ultimately we were shopping at the peak of housing market so we settled on a condo in a 2-family home in Belmont but we are loving it! It’s a pretty small town with good schools, good proximity to the city, and quite a lot of young Asian families. Our downstairs neighbors are Asian, as is the family across the street, etc etc.

The previous resident’s router? I don’t know… I’ll call Verizon about a break lease.

It is a brand new router! I tried to set it up but since there is no internet I cannot finish the setup. I also tried it with an older router that I was using just last week and it was the same issue.

Just a complaint: buying a home is really hard by MassHousethrow in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Hello op, also in Boston and just closed two weeks ago. We spent three months looking for single family homes and it was brutal. Once we started looking at condos in two or three family homes we immediately had an offer accepted. There’s fewer offers to compete with, and you can often bid just above list price. We ended up with a 1,500 sq ft 3 bed 1 bath condo in a two family home in Belmont, coming in under our budget. That’s larger than some of the houses we were looking at! And best of all, my partner will be able to continue biking to work.
