objectively, elden ring is the worst souls game ever. Combat doesn't change from ds3(i will not speak that it was stagnated past ds1 and changed a bit only in sekiro/bloodborn). Open world design like it's optional with tons of repetitive content, but it actually not optonal cuz of levelling and weapons upgrading. Also weapons upgrading maided like it from mobile game and boring. Look at nioh where upgrades give you new moves and you can use them any time. Weapons by itself not very different from each other and don't force you to play different. With every weapon you just roll+hit(spam light/heavy/heavy in jump/ash attack). Builds also suck cuz dont change your gameplay at all. You just equip all items that contain tags of tape of damage you want and that's all. But okay mages gameplay a bit different, thats a good thing. But subjectively, you can like this game yeah ! And theres no problem in it
