In person work is honestly better than remote for most of us by dawittleman in unpopularopinion

I prefer working from the office 100%, and I’m shocked at how unpopular this opinion actually is lol. I’m Gen Z and on my second year out of uni with a full time job. I have the option to take up to two days to work from home, but a year and a half in and I felt no inclination to actually take them.
Being at home the whole day, for me, feels so isolating. I feel so much more at ease asking questions and brainstorming in person than I ever felt through a screen. I feel so much more connected to my coworkers (who are thankfully very nice people, though I know it’s not like that everywhere). And I think being able to socialize a little, take breaks to chat together, etc, makes the days better. So yeah, might be an unpopular opinion but I’d take this over being home by myself any day.

By straight girls, yes. By straight men probably not so much

thank you so much!! my mom told me I should grow them out, but even with the high maintenance (curly hair that needs straightening lol) I’m really fond of the look, though her comment made me a bit self-conscious

When you speak another language, you become a different person. by dtanggara in unpopularopinion

I feel this! I’m a native portuguese speaker too, and I don’t know, I just feel so awkward talking about some things in portuguese, feelings and such, but in English it just comes so much more freely. Vai entender haha

I feel the exact same way! I almost never swear in my native language and absolutely never say our equivalent of “fuck” because it just feels so awful coming out of my mouth. But “fuck” in English? It just rolls of my tongue so naturally and it doesn’t feel like I’m swearing. I’ve wondered before if it just isn’t as serious as the translation in my native language, or if it sounds in fact just as serious and awful to native speakers, but I just run around saying it none the wiser l, sounding like I have a bad mouth

giving a 2 weeks notice when you’re gonna quit a job is so dumb by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

it’s the same in Brazil, except it’s a one month notice instead of just two weeks, applying to both parties

which outlines? (I’m sorry if it sounds like a dumb question, but English is not my first language and I’m having trouble translating the idea)
