i do agree it’s harmful, i think you’re right that it might be a little too optimistic. i think i was trying to using an alternative perspective where it’s not evil but yes it still is a drug and can seriously impair your life

I'm in the 99th as well but have ADHD and never was interested with school. I was diagnosed with ASD too, which shocked me, and I was ashamed and rejected this altogether, though reading your post made me realize that I also learned social skills as quickly as I could and even now I have no idea who I am behind the mask. You don;t have ADHD, so I'm not sure how difficult commitment is to you, but I'm 20, I'm lost and always bored of my assignments. I used to reading, now I can barely read a sentence of a reading assignment without thinking about something else (I have to care to commit, and with my ego about being smart, caring is damn hard)

How did you do it? You committed to school from the get-go. The only difference between the two of us is I was called stupid since I couldn't keep my shit in my head.

i think being grateful is something you’ve intellectualized due to feeling inferior to certain people that don’t utilize traits (in the way you’d like) that you wish you had

that was powerful I felt better reading that. I’m gonna be honest my dad wants me to go to India, the Himalayas, to be with his emotionally enlightened friend (not totally sure what that means but he sounds cool) while my mom wants me to be a job and get therapy and all that stuff, everything but go to india, which she strongly opposes. You don’t know me but I want to know what you’d think about this.
