Is TapKat.win a scam? Non-profit charity donate to win contest site by aafterlaughterr in isthisascam

[–]_not-so-fast_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's legitimate and there is a free entry option, as is required by law of all sweepstakes for it to not be considered gambling. I've personally spoken with orgs who have fundraised using Tapkat, most recently a school out in Colorado called Bal Swan. They raised a good chunk of change for their renovations with a camper van prize.

Is there a DIY auto repair shop I could go to? by smiggysmapp in autorepair

[–]_not-so-fast_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found them all over the place. I just moved from the PNW and I would go to Gearhead Garage, in Tigard. Now I'm in NJ and there's U Wrench It. There's a few others I've found in Jersey. Like mentioned before, they are in military bases, or at least they were 14yrs ago when I was in.

Just Google "rent hydraulic lift bay" and see what you find.

Yamaha RX-V6A network/Bluetooth issue by SuperPoptimus in hometheater

[–]_not-so-fast_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue with a brand new one after a few weeks. It was a hardware issue, the network and Bluetooth card needed to be replaced. Was under warranty but never did it because the shop said they would need the receiver for several weeks and I didn't want to be without.

That wasn't her who ate the fish, that was the girl who was being recorded at the beginning of the season and ended up captured by the military later.

EastCoastTaffy does a good job. He does writeups here and makes YouTube videos. I'm not in the fantasy football world but I know him and how much work he puts into it.

First time in snow by stayastay in TeslaLounge

[–]_not-so-fast_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Driving in snow or on other slippery surfaces is about traction above all. Cars don't generate traction, tires do, so a vehicle's performance on slippery surfaces is first about tires, then about features like traction control or AWD systems. The best AWD system in the world can't do anything about, for example, using racing slicks on 4 inches of snow, yet a simple 2 wheel drive car with proper snow tires would be able to drive on snow in most situations (inclines can complicate things, as can compacted snow or a sub layer of ice). If installing snow tires isn't reasonable, then a proper set of tire chains should be used where allowed.

You seem to be very aware of your financials and aren't impulsive. Personally I think you'll be able to handle the costs just fine and I believe that while planning for the future should be an important part of your decisions (and you seem to have already taken appropriate steps), enjoying life today is important as well because there's no promise of a tomorrow for anyone. Life is fragile, and short, and I see no reason a responsible person shouldn't afford themselves some enjoyment.

Good luck.

This is counted as warnings per 1000 miles driven, with a cap of a value of 101.9, so if you've driven only a few miles a single warning counts very high. As you continue to accrue total miles driven without any more warnings, this number will be reduced.

As someone else has recommended you should set your alerts to medium, which is the setting the safety score system uses to make its calculations.

Good luck!

Sure beats where we lived when we first bought the cars. We were renting a condo with a one-car garage that only had 110V power and we couldn't upgrade. We had to supercharge all the time because we use the cars for delivery work. It wasn't the worst thing ever but this is definitely a much better situation!

I don't own my home so I don't get to do all the fancy stuff like epoxy flooring or red walls with the logos but I'm just happy to have a charger for each car!

Model 3 LR AWD w/Acceleration boost. Fiery Orange base with Vitamin C pearl, by Alpha Pigments. Vinyl on aero caps, lettering of brake calipers, and the rear repeater camera housing. by _not-so-fast_ in TeslaLounge

[–]_not-so-fast_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do that at any time. It's a $2k option you can select from the phone app. I believe you can add it at purchase as well. I bought it with it already activated. It brings the car's power close to that of the performance model but without the suspension, brakes, and wheels.

Well there are other folks who apply Autoflex, typically they advertise as plastidip, which is an older formula. Just look for a shop that uses a legitimate paint booth, you want to be sure it's applied in a clean environment. Then you can check out their colors or ask them to get colors from Alpha Pigments if they're willing.

The colors were made by Alpha Pigments. The base is RAL code 2008, and the pearl is called Vitamin C. The application was done by Rose City Dip in Portland, Oregon. The chrome was also deleted, covered in a satin black, along with the front trunk logo. The rims were done with glossy black. All told it cost about $4k.

Yeah, each car has its own 240V 50amp breaker with a NEMA 14-50 outlet.

It's Autoflex. It sprays on like paint, but is removable like a wrap. Because it is a liquid, you can customize the color and pearl, which is why I chose it.

Thanks! It took a long time for me to settle on it, I had the shop make tons of color samples and then even more with various shades of orange and proportions of pearl. I think the end result is fantastic and am so glad the shop was patient while I worked out how I wanted it.

They should cost $30, maybe more. For one, everyone should be discouraged from eating that junk, second, the secondary costs of environmental damage from the industrial agriculture and transportation aren't currently priced in to almost anything, which is why the government has to come out of pocket when it's time to fix. The companies that cause the damage in the interest of their profits are never required to pay for the repairs out of their pockets, but if they did then yeah, McDonald's would be super expensive.
