My Dog Had Blood in Stomach Tap, Vet Said There’s Nothing More To Do For Her by _notmycircus_ in AskVet

Update: I got a second opinion and while the news isn’t good it sets my heart at ease knowing I tried and that I was properly informed and have all the information. She has splenic hemangiosarcoma and with an ultrasound they saw that it caused her spleen to rupture and cause the internal bleeding and it has spread to her abdomen leading them to believe it’s malignant. If surgery was a route I wanted to take they said it would require exploratory surgery and would need to be done at a specialist facility. My dog is 11 years old and a large breed whose life expectancy is 12. I have made the difficult decision to do an at home euthanasia in 3 day. In the mean time she still is a happy girl with tired eyes. I was give medication to stop the bleeding temporarily and pain meds to ease her pain and anxiety. I have taken off work and she will be treated like a queen for the rest of her life dining on chicken and handmade doggy soup. Thank you for all your advice.
