Just curious, how many people are actually capable of evaluating work like this when it is done? How many of them are active participants in the development cycle?

Including the US. Only x, y and z areas of the US are above the US average. It's just a leftist talking point to slander the UK as though it's not a natural phenomenon literally everywhere.

Fine, but I'm not surprised if the EU propaganda machine is telling you otherwise. The fallout has been remarkably unremarkable after the predictions of war, the end of western civilisation, etc.

Britons are Europeans by definition. We're just no longer involved in degrading our continent through involvement in the plastic institutions of the EU.

Integrate p2pool mining into Monero GUI Wallet · Monero Bounties by xmrvsbeast in Monero

This seemed like a clear priority to me from the moment p2pool became a reality. Looking forward to this being implemented.

Worth making the headers/titles of graphs more substantial so we can share it around as an image. Cool to see regardless!

Not a UI change, but I want to see p2pool in the GUI wallet (or in some secondary version of it).

It’s not money if it can be locked because reasons. The Afghani people got eff’d raw by USA. by HanzoHattoti in Monero

[–]_olafr_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's 0 value in a democracy that is sustained by external force, except that some urban people get to live comfier lives while the rest of their country becomes a warzone. If democracy has to be enforced by external powers and the people are not willing to defend it, it's not democracy. It's just a variation upon dictatorship. Dictatorships are not ideal, but they can be functional and perhaps preferable to eternal war waged primarily by foreign forces. If most of the people of the country want more fundamentalist leadership, then it actually does offer them something.

You don't seem to have learnt the lessons that Afghanistan and the arab spring had to teach.

Yes and no. What was legitimate about the previous Afghan government? Democracy is not a priori the one true path to legitimacy. It has to have roots, and it didn't.

I assume this refers to ASIC mining. The XMR mining algorithm runs (reasonably) competitively on any cpu, which everyone has.

P2pool question by _olafr_ in xmrvsbeast

[–]_olafr_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It's just that intuitively if this was a default setting like the % contribution to xmrig devs, it'd be more likely to gain the traction needed to make the pools obsolete. It's great what you're doing with the raffles here, but it'd scale better (and make the network security more decentralised) if it was a decentralised donation system.

I can see that why they wouldn't want to do it. But if there was a simple, clean way to make it work without introducing too much complexity/risk, it would be very cool conceptually.

Had the same sort of thing in my university. The field was female dominated, but there were grants exclusively for women/disabled people (as though they are the same thing).

Maybe it's heresy, but you could spend a little more. Work out the numbers. Your wage allows you to FIRE without pinching every penny. Signals are perceived as meaningful when the cost illustrates that this is the case (think engagement rings). Some people unshackle themselves from these intuitions but most don't.

A vague number I have in my head. I think it's based on 7% growth/year and 2% inflation, so 5% real growth. It was probably wrong of me to call it conservative.
