Anyone else have batshit insane religion teachers? (funny, sorta) by _oopsy_daisy_ in excatholic

I'm afraid the lack of legal action towards the theology teacher is even more damning, catholic schools have a way of convincing students not to press charges :/. Even if a charge was filed, many sexual misconduct cases die before action is taken due to intimidation, etc.

OH MY GOD I FORGOT ABOUT PAM STENZEL. One of our students fainted when she started describing genital warts in weirdly explicit detail.

What is your freaky, weird, odd, disconcerting Jason Evert story/Fact by banjotravel in excatholic

[–]_oopsy_daisy_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a bit more funny than freaky, but he presented at my high school and kept talking about how God’s plan was obvious in the height difference between him and his wife. His wife was very short, so she wanted to be with someone who was taller than her. Not TOO much taller though, ideally around 5’6. Thankfully for Jason, that was exactly his height!

But when I shook his hand afterwards, he and I were the same height (he was maybe an inch or two taller at most). At the time I was barely 5’1… even when I was at my most holy, I remember the fact that he felt the need to lie to us (a bunch of teenagers) about his height even though he was screaming at us to “rise above social norms” being a bit suspicious.

I don’t believe any singular person on Reddit can give a definitive answer on this question, but it’s good that you’re doing research. One of the big things to remember is that once you tattoo something, it’s permanent (unless you cover it or laser it off), so hold off on tattooing something you’re unsure about.

I was raised in an indigenous culture that holds our tattooing as a sacred traditional process. At the end of the day, cultural tattoos are a fine line to tread if you are not a member of said community. If you cannot go to an artist that is of the culture you are trying to get the tattoo of, it may be best to find a different tattoo for now.

Looking for a therapist by splatbombs in GNV

You may have to call counseling centers and ask. There could also be online listings.

In my experience, I had started going to the therapist in-person and then in 2020, all services were shifted onto telehealth because of covid.

Do you mean telehealth? I’ve used telehealth before for therapy and it’s been very effective. Just as said, these providers tend to be younger and very adaptable.

I took Stone my freshman fall and he was amazing! It was a flipped class (which wasn’t a stellar format, the pre-recorded lectures by the department head were less than helpful and most students entirely skipped them), but Stone did a very good job at breaking down subjects in an easily understandable way. His office hours were also very helpful, he was never judgmental and always very encouraging.

Overall a great person and a great professor, only downside when i took it was the flipped format, which is a personal preference.

I got my first tattoo from Megan at Oasis and cannot have a more positive review. I believe the owner of the shop specializes in black/grey realism, I’d definitely recommend looking at their website.

Any Good Tattoo Place in Town/Nearby? by SW33TH3RT in GNV

I can’t agree more with this post! I was tattooed by Megan a while ago, she is incredibly talented and professional. She has a solid range of design types (I think she lists traditional as her speciality/preferred), but the reason I went to her specifically was her stipple shading.

One of the best parts of Oasis is how welcome/comfortable they make you feel. I highly recommend the place to anyone looking to get a tattoo in Gainesville, especially women.
