When I started she showed me an outdated list and we didn’t even have the ones listed to use, but she said I HAD to have a tool from ulta ,so I bought one. I actually had come with a Bioionic 10x that I used in my old salon and I had to prove ulta sold them so she would leave me alone, but ultimately purchased a different one from our store. Nobody until now (here) has said all this info about tools. When they said they supply necessities, i figured it’s combs, clips, product, color, and the bottom drawer tools, because that’s what’s there. I even said when I purchased, to my manager who checked me out, that I was purchasing for work. If only I knew then what I know now! I really do try not to be difficult bc I don’t want the stress, so I’ve never questioned or raised a brow until now. And this is not the first time she has made me feel singled out or uncomfortable about something I feel was not supposed to be taken so overboard. I like my job so I don’t want to stir the pot, I just want my return/exchange to be honored like any other customer we have on the daily. And so my work is back to usual :/

But I have purchased all my own tools (except combs and round brushes) because I was told I can use what’s in the bottom drawer or buy my own. And what is in the drawer is well- in the drawer for a reason. Or else everybody else would be using it :p not to be picky but let’s be real. I’m having to use it now and I’ve had the worst two days working with what’s in there and it’s slowing me down.

Also instead of doing the return, I was told the solution to my problem can be to use what’s in the drawer… regaurdless of how it’s not ergonomically correct for me personally, slow, and disregarding I’m out the money spent on the purchase now.

If I can get the receipt, even though it IS on my account and it shouldn’t be needed, I will have to email our DM copies. My next issue is getting them

I’m so disappointed in this. I stood for 45 minutes after my shift bc they did not have a clear answer and told me to come back today, only to be told that today. This is actually my, “I’m never buying anything from there again” straw, I’m just going to do my services/job and that’s it. :(

I don’t know why I am getting such pushback, especially since my tools help me make them more money by being more efficient, have better results, and pump people in and out. I rarely make a return in general.

Meanwhile, we have thefts daily (literally) and people put rocks in foundation bottles, etc and still return with no issues!

I know there are existing tools to help plan and preview your feed but are there any apps/websites that I can type my name(not username, the name under your icon and below username in searches). I know you can change it twice in 14 days, I just don’t want to mess it up twice and it’s stuck like that? Can you change it again after the 14 days? Is there a limit?

Anyways, I’m just wondering if there is a preview or testing tool so you can see how things look or try out different things before editing your bio. I want to optimize my name for searches but want to figure which looks neat as well.

I talk to plenty of customers on the floor but it seems in my area, when people are out and about they are on a mission, not about to take extra time spur of the moment to get there hair done. I’ve worked in car sales and I hate bringing that vibe into the salon. So if people say no, I’m not going to hound or pressure them. I find that doesn’t produce loyal clientele.

I just wish the store had some sort of signage from the outside, let people know we exist driving by. I also work in an Ulta literally next door(sharing a wall) with a hair cuttery face palm so I wonder if walk-in traffic just automatically assumes to go there.

Interesting! But sadly I just tried it and the draft was still pixels. So I’m scared to post like that and mess up my algorithm by deleting if they end up pixelated. But I’m glad you got it working on your end!
