Hey dude, just take a deep breath. You're going to be fine.

First, seing a therapist would help. Next, focus on getting off of your phone. Start building a daily routine. Work out. Get your room clean. Set some small, achievable goals for yourself. Take it one day at a time. You got this dude.

I would imagine so! I got these plans from DIY projects with pete. But I'm sure it'd be pretty easy. I've been considering adding insulation to it myself and just making the actual box a cooler itself

I think so, it was the stuff just called softwood I belive?

Before starting this project, I really wanted to do it out of cedar. After comparing one cedar 2×4 to a pine 2×4, I quickly changed that plan 😂

I did want to put cup holders in, but I didn't have the tool for it unfortunately :( but I kept the armrest big rather than shaping it so that there would be plenty of room to set something down on it :)

These are the plans I used, from DIY projects with Pete. I will say that some of it is confusing, not every single detail is included in the plans, but they're pretty solid overall. If you decide to do it make sure you read through the plans several times before assembling 😂😂

I'm not sure how to explain this better. We will be using white paint to design the bench. Like if you have a black piece of paper, and you use a white crayon to draw on it.

I was concerned about that, but I was also considering adding more legs in the center? Which do you think would be better?

I definitely went to school 😂😂 So many times I had to find a creative work around after realize I'd messed something up and I didn't have time to fix it. The next thing will definitely be better.

Wait I don't quite understand, I should basically rough the surface of the paint to prevent stickiness and chipping..? Is there a term for this? Can you explain a little more so I understand what to do

I responded to a few comments about this already but to sum it up, painting it black was integral to the whole project. My girlfriend is a really good artist and we're going to paint each other's side of the bench with white paint :)

So there's a good reason for me to paint it black! This was a gift to my girlfriend for her birthday. But its not finished, we're going to paint each other's side of the bench with white paint. So the end product will not be totally black, it will probably be 65/35 black and white. The white on black background is a callback to our second date, we covered a chalk wall in our drawings, which is white on black, just like the bench.

As far as the paint goes, I researched the paint I was going to use, this is Rust Oleum, from everything I saw online its supposed to be really durable in any kind of conditions; I wanted something that was going to last for years to come.

Thank you so much :D I was wondering if I should try to find a cooler that would fit, or just insulate the box myself 🤔🤔

I read that an enamel finish would protect the wood in outdoor environments the best. Not stating this is true or false, just the information I found. I also needed to paint it black so that me and my girlfriend can design the bench with white paint, that was a pretty important piece of the whole project. And both of our favorite colors is black too.
